Cliff Joyner looking for sponsors

To clarify any misgivings, I was hoping my fans in the pool community would allow me to play in this event by sponsoring me.
Cliff

C'mon folks. I donated $100 that I couldn't afford. Just because I like the way Cliff plays, and because he's always been such a nice guy to me and my friends. Surely, we here can sponsor the rest.

Step up, guys, those who can afford it.

Fatboy, Eric, can you do this one time favor for me (and Cliff)?

Thanks,

-Blake

Way to put somebody on the spot Slo Mo. Im sure Eric is aware of this thread.
That is seriously rude of you to drag Eric's name into this.
Have you any idea of how many people that tried to put the bite on him?
He has done his share and I'm sure will do a lot more but when he sees fit.
He'd be broke right now if he donated to every person that put the bite on him in the past.
Ridiculous.

Does someone need to come out and say what 98% of AZ is thinking right now or just leave it up to your imagination.

If wishes were horses.

Astonishing, you'd ask for money on your very first post. Sorry sir...but your repute already precedes you:

Nickname for Cliff - 09-01-2009, 11:48 AM
I am not one who is big on the whole rhyming name thing, like Shannon "the cannon" Earl "the pearl"

Anyway, I was thinking what would be a good name for Cliff Joyner, and it dawned upon me.

Cliff "Tuesday" Joyner If you are having a hard time figuring out this name, think of what Whimpy from Popeye says.

Talking Cliff "The Bitemaster" Joyner - 09-01-2009, 08:55 PM
Cliff gives up weight better than anyone who has ever lived, but he actually "Bites" (borrows money) even better than he plays so that will explain my nickname. No one is even close to his biting ability.

How about wimpy. "I'll gladly pay you later if I lose to you today."

As any of you that have traveled the roads playing pool knows, it gets expensive. I was hoping to offset some of these expenses for the Southern Classic held in Tunica this June by asking the pool community to consider sponsoring me.
Entry fees for the 3 Southern Classic, the Ultimate Ten ball and the Big Foot 10 Ball Challenge are $2130. and the 2 week stay at Harrah's is $1430
If anyone is interested in sponsoring me in part or whole please contact me.
Cliff

Best of luck to you, Cliff. Ignore the mean-spirited posts on this forum. I realize it is supposed to be a pool-related forum, but this is no place for pro players or those who play pool full-time. Too much negativity here. As you will see, most pro players do *not* post here, or if they do, it is very rare. In fact, some pro players have asked to have their names removed from this forum after they read a few posts here and saw how pro players were treated.

In America, pool is cruel to its own. League action is where it's at, unfortunationaly for professional pool.

I hope you get staked, but this forum, sad to say, is not a welcoming place for this or for any pro player's words of wisdom even. :(

Jen, since when is an opinion or the truth being mean spirited. Anyway, not going to do another go round with you.

Love the Foggy Mountain Breakdown by the Iraq Pickers. He was real good.

How did you get to be silver and gold? Identity crisis?

Woke up one morning and there was my Cuz, I logged onto Az and there it was.

Got the Silver and Gold blues, uh huh, the Silver and Gold blues.

Hey, Punter, I bet sawbuck on Gary Stevens yesterday. That was my only bet, with only nine horses in the race. 15:1 odds. Ka-ching! Gotta root for the old-school player.

At 50 years old, he's still a contender. Love seeing that! :D

You are right. It was in very poor taste to single him out like that. I was way beyond inconsiderate. I wish I could go back in time and make a better decision.

Eric, I sincerely apologize.

Yeah well it did sound like I was trying to be a dick to you and I didn't mean to sound so harsh.

But what I said, I know for fact. When you have millions at your disposal, you suddenly have more friends than you ever knew you had. And all these friends come with amazing business opportunities. We'll use your money and my ideas and we'll be rich.

Eric also has to wade and fade that sort of thing too.

Can weigh heavy after a short time.

All is well at the end of the day.
Terry.

Bump for Cliff

Cliff is a good horse to have in this tourney. He is very capable of winning the 1 Pocket. And the other events also, Just manage your investment and your player.
Good Luck Cliff

I agree with Gary, Cliff Joyner (I call him "CJ #2") is fully capable of winning and I've staked him many times.

The last time I bet on Cliff they had me hold the up money and I forgot and left for a couple of hours with a "beautiful distraction". I got a frantic call from Cliff "where you at man....you got all the money!!!" ......at that point it hit me "oh, Sh*t," We rushed back to the pool room in Mobile and all was well, but it was kinda funny looking back.

Just remember, first you get someone to hold the money, then you get someone to hold them.;)

I would stake "CJ 2", however, I don't know if "CJ 1" is going to be there and that's one of my personal rules, I want to watch "my money" play. ;)

Good Luck Cliff, hope to "C" you there Buddy.

Blake,

you dont owe me a apology, Cliff is your fiend and your lookin' out for him. I respect that. I got no beef with you or Cliff at all. I dont know Cliff real well, we talked a couple times briefly and he has always been cool with me.

I dont owe anyone a explanation but i have always been a open book.

Here is the deal, I aint made a dollar since May 08, thats the truth. i have sold off property at huge losses over the past few years, and collected $$$, paid off a couple loans. Fired $$$ at 2 new gigs and lost over a mil on those ideas. Right now I have no income, I have some rental property in Vegas, the rent covers the management and property taxes, Feb 2010 was the last time i took a paycheck from the property management and that was lost to carring costs of other property at the time, my last 4 tax returns and this year(i'm on extension) are all negative numbers. 5 years of no income is brutal, but i planned for the worst and hoped for the best. So at the moment i am holding my costs down, i didnt do the "Fatboy" at the DCC not cause i dont like the players, it was just not a good plan for me to fire $5,000 at something.

I'm not broke, but i cant do anything for anyone but me at the moment, I said I will do something for pool this year-when Kevin collected $30 for me to be Gold here, and I will. I have a couple things in the mix right now and when i'm back in the chips, i' will be able to do things like you asked me to, I been up/down my whole life, it comes with the life i chose.

So please dont apologize, you were looking out for Cliff, which as i said i respect. I also LOVE the camera work you do, very cool stuff.

best
eric

Thanks, man. I'm glad you understand my enthusiasm. We're all good. I know you're a pretty easy going guy, but I'll show more tact in the future.

And to Blue Hog, no hard feelings. I appreciate and respect your advice. I welcome every opportunity to learn from my mistakes.

Thanks, guys.

No hard feelings Slo Mo. Not my style. I tend to voice an opinion on occasion with no long term affects intended.

Like I say, it's always good at the end of the day.
