Just wanted to give a huge thank you to Justin (JCIN) for making the TAR 34 One Pocket match available online. The quality of the video and play itself is superb! Best $5 I ever spent. In my opinion, this new service is the best billiard product to be released in the past few years.

Did you just pay for it and stream it? Or did you download it then play it? If you downloaded it then played it; curious what the file size is and what player you used.

I downloaded my copy. The file size is over 15GB and in mp4 format.

It didn't take me too long to download, a few hours at most. If you have trouble, I would try downloading overnight when the internet traffic is lower. I use VLC player to play mine, quality is great.

1. Install, refuse all "extra" offers
2. Open DAP, go to Tools -> Options -> Connections and under Acceleration Mode choose High Acceleration Speed
2. Right click the vimeo download now link, download with DAP
 
Not to be a downer, but I'm guessing Justin doesn't intended this to be downloaded... I am assuming that, but haven't had the chance to pay for the stream. But since a 3rd party tool is needed to download, it seems safe to assume it's not intended.

That being said, I understand wanting a local copy and the technology to do so has been common for a long time. But I think it's reasonable to say a reminder that it would be better for the community, TAR, and Justin to not "share" any downloaded TAR or any PPV vids. Not saying anybody here intends to do that, but just figured I'd throw it out there as a reminder :)

I just want to make sure to support TAR, and anybody who goes out of their way to provide a service.

Just for clarification, I'm an idiot why?

If you learned how to read, you'd note that almost none of my post would apply to you (I hope). If you're not intending to share the vid, then you aren't who I'm posting to. That was for people who think it's okay to grab the vid and post it to YouTube... In case you don't understand YouTube, it's a place where assholes have posted TAR vids before. If you think it's okay to do that, then I know why you were pissed off.

The only thing that would apply to you was my comment about Justin probably not intending to have the video downloaded. Are you saying Justin does want people here downloading the video? We can ask him... And if he says it's what he wants done, then you are a stand up guy for posting instructions on how to download it.

Here's another assumption that I pulled out of my backside, you'd rather throw out insults like a 10 year old who just learned how to swear than actually voice a clear point.

I appreciate you looking out for TAR's interest. To clarify things I made a decision to specifically allow people to download the files of the matches they buy. This could have its pitfalls but I think its fair for the people who pay for something in this format to be able to keep it. I'm sure someone at some point will post it on YouTube and I will deal with that when it happens.

You can't stop the internet so might as well make it easy for paying customers and just know some of the stuff is going to leak. I tried to structure this thing so its affordable and easy for people who want to see it. Hopefully the sharing doesnt get out of hand. If it gets so bad its not worth doing then things could change.

Thanks Justin for the clarification. I'd only seen this thread and learned about the vid being available as a result of this post, so I didn't have the chance to see your release while browsing the forum this afternoon.

Zerius, to say "Again", you'd have had to mention Justin's post a first time... If you read your own post, you didn't mention any release, you just went all road-rage right off the mark.

I'm not going to spend time looking for threads before every single post. I was clear enough in my post using plain English in saying that I didn't know for sure. You happened to have the benefit of reading the announcment before this thread, that doesn't make you a genius. When I posted, there was no related thread in the new top/posts... But again, I made room for being wrong anyway so it doesn't matter. If you are going to get butt hurt over that, good luck to ya.

What's more important than my bs post is that we have hours more of cool pool to watch thanks to TAR.

1. If you did your research before posting your dumb guess then maybe you would have known.

2. If you even had visited the webpage and saw the download button maybe you would've known

3. If you read any of the posts above mine maybe you would've known

4. If you followed any of the previous TAR releases with Shane maybe you would have known.

5. AND finally, if you had read JCIN's post regarding the file size and the likelyhood of an internet interruption causing the download to not complete maybe you would have known

BUT you didn't do any of these, heck, I doubt you even read this thread through. You decided it would be a great idea to infect these forums on what YOU think is right and start attacking me based on what? That's right, assumptions you pulled straight out of your ass. Good job sir.

$15 for a year to view it - one of the classic all time great matches ever put on video? No brainer. Got mine and will ENJOY spending a year watching these two great players battle it out at my convenience.

And regarding downloading it, no real need to beat each other up over it because downloading happens regardless of whether it's legal or not, whether people want it to be downloaded or not, welcome to the digital age. There are many legitimate reasons for downloading a video rather than streaming it with the biggest being that some people's connection just isn't good enough to maintain the bandwidth to stream smoothly. Another reason would be that a person might want to use another video player so as to be able to analyze the game better. I like to watch them offline as when I am traveling. Also if vimeo or Tar happens to disappear before I finish watching I'd like to have a copy to watch.

It's real easy, if you paid for it then enjoy it however you want to and don't go putting it on YouTube and don't burn DVDs to sell. Be cool and support the guys who bring us these awesome matches.
 
Got mine last night, although it would not play until I got the latest VLC Media player version.

IMO there is no real alternative for VLC, handles everything I have thrown at it, and it's free.
I downloaded the file aswell, took me around 2 hours (at my maximum download speed it should have been under 30 mins).

Amazing quality at a great price! I will continue to buy these in the future if you put them out there!
