After what seems like years of delays and countless never ending threads about Bonus Ball. Will it start? Do they have the money to pay out? Barry Bremner? What is the business plan, etc. Today is finally the day.
I am sure that the production aspect will be off the charts and so we are all going to see over the next few weeks or months the answers to many of the questions that have been thrown around.
From what I can gather, all the players and crew are in good spirits and excited to finally get things started. I saw that they were on Vegas TV yesterday and I am seeing pictured on FB from players who are pumping up tonights first match and players heading over to the VNEA event to do some publicity. Personally I believe that starting your marketing campaign 24 hours before your first Major event is leaving things a little late but hey, WTF do I know and its not my money.
As of tonight they will have proved a number of people wrong. Many people who said "It will never get started" Well step # 1 will be complete yet there are still a number of questions on the table like "How long will it last" and "Do they have the money to pay the players" The answer to these questions and more will be revieled in time.
It is a shame that this has caused so much ill will among the industry. I understand that BB had delays and this changed the actual schedule and that change unfortunatley affected other events in one way or another. I am not really sure what the answer could have been maybe people in the pool biz talking to each other maybe not who knows.
I wish the players and the WPBL well and hope everything goes smooth. I also hope that as many players as possible attend all the other events that are in the mix of BB and show them support.
