After all that not starting on time is lame. Sorry but I am making the wife mad to be able to watch it live and this is just lame.

I got confirmation within 5 seconds. Maybe double check your junk mail folder?
 
This kind of action makes me want to sign up and pay double of what MLB.tv charges for a season...
 
is there a chat room with the stream? I don't see one... but wouldn't be the first mistake I've made

Yes I got confirmation email. I don't believe its nessessary. however I am digned in and still got "Will start shortly" Shane Sinnott, I agree this part would be good for casuals who are just gonna give it a shot at least.
 
so do you have to register? I don't even see that option.
