Just saw this. Don't trade with this guy. He will try to screw you. The Cog used to be mine. We did a trade with it and a Predator. He gets the cue around 15th of June. Contacts me and says the cue is "flopping like a fish". Wants me to buy it back from him for 1900. He had me ship to a middle man in the states and they shipped the cue to him. I told him I work work with him on it even though he had me ship it to this other guy to save himself a little cash. I knew the cue was straight when i shipped it and now know it was straight when he got it. Now, not even a month later, the cue is amazingly in mint condition and perfect. I saw he had a bad history in trades so I made him send me his cue first. I would advise anyone who trades with him to do the same. But I would stay clear all together.

Hey David Steelman & to everyone else who actually reads this,

After several pms and cancellations (his side, he said 'deal' then called off), we concluded on a deal. My deal with David (subdude1974) is as following:

- My brand new, perfect condition Predator SE 26 + some cash for his used Cognoscenti with 2 shafts. He described it as following:

Had this sold but you know that story. Sweet playing cue. Both shafts have a slight roll. One is very, very minor while the other is a little more noticeable. Still very playable. Asking SOLD OBO. PM me if interested. As always, willing to look at trades. PM me if interested.
Butt:15.8oz
Shaft 1: 12.46mm 3.4oz(approx. 1/32in roll)
Shaft 2: 12.96mm 3.8oz(approx. 1/16in roll)

- He wanted me to ship my cue to him first and I told him there should be no problem with that. Cue shipped. He got it. Checked out fine. Sent him the cash via PayPal. He shipped the cue to a 3rd party in California, they will bring the cue back to Vietnam for me.

Oh btw, I'm in Vietnam at the moment and I don't trust direct shipping using UPS, USPS from US to Vietnam. Lots of things get stolen at the local post offices here, which is why I wanted him to ship to the mentioned 3rd party. I did not 'try to save some cash' by doing this. It actually costs me more.

- I got his cue a week after that, turned out his rolls on the shafts were significantly more than described, and to turn bad to worse, the butt has some roll at the joint area (can be seen when rolling on the table).

- I pm'ed him questioning this. He claimed it was straight when he shipped it. I told him I could not be happy with his cue and liked to revert this deal. He rejected that, told me that my cue (the Predator SE26) was already sold and his responsibility was completed when his cue reached CA.

- I believe a trade is only completed when both parties are happy. However, David sold my cue before I got his, which was ridiculous, and he completely denied responsibility.

- I then told him that he could buy it back or he could chip in a bit if I send this cue to Joe Gold for repair. Again, he said no. I did not feel like talking some sense into this unreasonable guy, so I just kinda left it there while being very busy with my daily life. I have not chosen to call him out publicly. Yet he started to jump on me, calling me a con because I asked him for compensation.

Well David, I haven't made any move, it doesn't mean I forgot about you. Thanks for reminding me about this btw.

Here's the video of the roll:

Again, my point is not that he knew or did not know if the butt had warped at the joint, he might be honest not knowing that, no problem, but then a trade back would be necessary. My point is that he should not have sold my cue when I haven't had his. Trade is not completed until both parties are happy.

AZB, I like to hear your opinions.

So let me get this straight, the cue has a roll to it and you are listing it as mint? Really?

I checked the cue the day before I shipped it. I posted a video of the shafts and the roll. You wanted me to buy the cue from you or me pay all shipping and all expenses for the supposed repair. I have no way of knowing what your guy did with the cue when he got it in California. It was your gamble to have someone else ship. I had it insured fully. If something had happened, I would have just bought the Predator from you and made a claim with the post office. But again, that was your gamble, not mine.

I have not officially listed that cue in a thread. When I do, or someone enquires, that roll will be disclosed before a deal is made. Either that, and that roll needs to be repaired by Joe Gold. I don't do shady trades, if anyone's unhappy with their end of the trade, just trade back, simple as that.

Btw, as a precaution to selling/trading cues, I take videos of rolls of butts and shafts, apart and together, prior to shipping them. I always show those videos to the clients and make sure they're happy with it. And if they're not happy by some reason by the time they received the cues, pay shipping and ship them back to me, not a problem.

I pm'ed on the day I received the cue and checked it. That was a reasonable timeframe to revert things, should anything happen.

My guys (the mentioned 3rd party) only provide shipping services, nothing else. They don't mess with cues. Your cue came to me in your own packaging.

Since you sold my cue before the deal was completed, those I suggested were the more acceptable options. I did not gamble. I trusted you as an honest seller, and my guys in CA as honest business dealers. I just hated your manners when shit happens.

So, you took a video of the shafts and the roll. You didnt even show it to me. Where was that posted? I did not see it in your thread.

Warped or not, I trusted you David. But tell me one thing, why was it ok to sell my cue before I received your cue? I was not happy with your cue, I should be able to revert this deal.

Only way....

The only way is to offer a return satisfaction guarantee/escrow/or face-to-face transaction...which is why I do NOT do anymore internet deals.
I got burned 2 years ago on a cue...and Paypal screwed me too...zero buyer protection in my case.

Ok Mr. Skeptical, how about now? Are you buying this cue back? If you're a buyer, you know what you're getting. Its your cue. Full disclosure.

I'm very detailed to what I'm buying and selling. My buyers will know what they're getting, and if they're claiming of not getting a cue as described, they can send it back to me within a reasonable timeframe and I'll just refund in full.

Stop avoiding the question. "why was it ok to sell my cue before I received your cue?"

You knew I was selling it. You gave me the buyers name. You knew the deal before hand. I am sorry that something happened in the 8 days. Between California and Vietnam. As far as I am concerned, it is not my problem. Hate to sound like that, but it is what it is. I sold the cue after it was received in California and no damage reported. Anything after that is on you. It was your choice to use someone else. I don't know what the person did to it or how they stored it before it came to you. To me, it is like some of the overseas people that want you to put the value at 100 to avoid taxes. It gets lost, should I pay for you wanting to be cheap? No. Again, YOU made the choice to use a middle man. YOU made that choice. Live with the consequences of your actions.
