The obsession of JB and Jack Justice is hitting a all time low as now he has stooped to posting cases for sale stating how easy they are to make with a video to boot
The case was supposed to be 300 but after the old bait and switch they are now 475
If I were ever even considering buying a JB case I would not ever even consider it after his classless and unprofessional approach to selling his cases
And of course John will consider this as free advertising

Can you post a link, so we can see the case. Let people make their sayso if it is or is not worth 475
Cause he has plenty of them Id pay 300 for and 475. I may buy it
 
I really don't see the issue. There are cases from just about every maker that resemble that of another. Just because John is going to make something similar to Jacks doesn't mean he is in the wrong. He's simply creating another outlet for people who want a case with the look but cannot afford the price of the original. Business. Do something the same and with less cost and you're a winner. I really couldn't care less either way, as most people shouldn't unless they have soft feelings :)

Looks like your doing John a favor by advertising for him.... Those cases are going fast!
Even if its $475 for a JB made Justis style case that jack normally charges a lot more than $475 for....sounds like a good price for a %100 legend built case.

The real fact of the matter is if you think it's anything other than a slap at Jack your sadly mistaken yes many people copy others jack has done the same they call those tribute cases and they don't base the original maker

If you believe John is going to mass produce a copy of a JJ case so players can get a affordable copy your in a dream world

Actually I kinda disagree with you somewhat here.Its great advertising for Justis cases not jb cases. First off Jack Justis is busy enough with custom case orders and rarely posts anything on azbilliards except for the completed cases he makes and post pictures of so the new case owners can see the finished product before its shipped to them.
Jack doesn't have the time to sit on azbilliards all day and night because he doesn't have workers making his cases.Also Jack Justis doesn't sit on azbilliards all day and night meddling and posting in every thread to interject his opinions and start arguments for no reasons.
How often have you seen Jack Justis make negative videos and or comments concerning other azbilliards members.The answer is never and if he responds to any negative comments he does with humor because he thinks it funny.Jack Justis is a class act and is very busy making cases 1 case at a time by himself and delivered to the customer on time every time with no exceptions or excuses.

Everyone knows John Barton doesn't like Americans to succeed.Remember the American Dream is Dead in John Bartons own words as per his own comments below.

OP may have misread the post if he thinks there was a bait and switch. What John says is that he will make a video of himself making a case 100% himself (custom) and will sign it for $475. After which, JB Cases may offer this case as a semi-custom that would be made out of his shop for $300 + shipping (not 100% by him nor signed). It couldn't have been more clear, you all can read it for yourselves by clicking the link.

What I think is cool (to me anyway) is that John is showing how a case like this is made.

This is great. Justis cases are not durable, do not hold up over time. They should be cheaper, glad Johns making them affordable for people.

I myself have 3 justis cases in the closet, all broken down after years. I have 2 whitten cases in the closet, all still in great shape after 15 years. I also have a JB case, which I use now and consider the best of all 3 without any doubt.
A lot of locals in Houston have got on the JB wagon as well, I've been seeing the cases everywhere here.

The mans going to make you a quality case for atleast 1/3 the cost, how can you beat that. Its awesome.

Sounds legit to me. 475$ for a one man made case or $300 for the semi production version later down the road.

If I think about it, it's a good deal. Is shipping included at this price?


Also, reading the for sale post, it doesn't sound like a bait and switch at all.

Who cares if it's a slap at Jack? It might be, or it might not. What is the big deal? Business owners in every aspect of every business in the world compete with one another without incident. When outside sources like biased opinions get involved is when things get complicated. Let them make cases- its what they both do for a living, so let them do it. I don't own a case from neither Jack or John so it's totally irrelevant to me. But I will say, I'm glad to see a similar case for a much lower cost..

I wonder how many people don't buy cases or cues, or get further into pool because it becomes expensive very quickly? Probably a lot. More affordable products can only help the community as a whole. The sooner you realise that instead of arguing over what's better, the sooner half the problem with this industry will be solved.

Seems like a fair deal to me. Jack gets more because he hand makes each case so why shouldn't jb. It's still less expensive then a justice. I think I paid 600 for a plain Jane from justice and that was with the expo discount.
 
I find this thread humorous. A guy who makes great cases offers to show his potential customer base how a particular case is made. He offers the finished product for sale at a specified price with an autograph and a video to show how the case was made. The case is a "tribute" to another guy who also makes great cases albeit at a much higher price point. One poster, who obviously has a personal problem with one of the case makers, starts a thread belittling the other case maker accusing him of bait and switch. Guess my assessment is "all is fair in love and war". Some call it competition. And that my friend supposedly IS the American way. Just look at how many top flight cue makers make Southwest tributes. JMHO

It was not meant as a threat I know Blackballed played him once yrs back lost 9/8
I get a dig on him every now and the because he does not get out and play very ofton

You don't need a expensive cue and case to play pool infact a good house cue with a good tip will play as good as most customs

However since pool players don't have much money it's good he has shown how cheap and easy they are to make I can see many players making their own
