Rip-off Report on Glen, The Real King Cobra "UPDATE"

I have a 9-foot Brunsick Century, ball return, et cetera. FREE to a good home. Cost $2,000 with discount when brand-new (used to work for Brunswick distributor). You pick up and deliver. Not responsible for rails or who sets it up. :D

Wish I lived by ya JAM I'd have it in a good home by end of day!!! Very cool offer!

At the risk of being a stupid downplayer.

What Glenn said he would do when this blew up was:

1) Send the OP's money back immediately.

2) Join the castings which were in his truck with the rails which were at Diamond and mail them back together as soon as he got back to Diamond.

He sent the money back immediately. He hasn't been back to Diamond yet.

You would be hitting balls by late 2015. That is if everything went well.

That for sure could be true. Unless you wanted to pay $20K to have the job done, you'd have to wait until the guy was going to be:

A) Close to the area the table was to take it apart and stuff it in his truck. Where it would sit until the guy was:

B) Close to the area where you were with enough time to set it up at your house.

If you didn't like the time or rate you were quoted for the job, all you'd have to do is contact one of the many other guys there are that perform like this.

I can only think of one, but I'm stupid.

Is that what that word means? Thanks!

Sorry if I was unclear (probably that dumb acting up again) but I was referring to Glen. As many here at AZ have attested, he will pick up your table in one part of the Country and deliver it to you and give you a top of the line set up. There has been thread after thread from guys that did wait for Glenn's timetable and were glad they did. Glen is real overbooked, real in demand, way behind and very slow. All this has been well documented before. I don't know of another guy that can or will do that for you, but by all means let's bash the one guy who will because the OP felt cheated. Let's forget all the raves and let's concentrate on this one deal that went bad.

Glen couldn't perform as quickly as promised by him. The OP stated that all he wanted was for Glen to refund his money which Glen has done. I have no doubt that Glen will return the rails as soon as he gets to Diamond. Glen will continue to be overbooked. The OP will still have an unassembled white Gandy in his garage.

I'll continue to be dumb. JCIN will continue to be a nit.

If there is any question, it is probably not a good idea to arrange to have RKC deliver your baby.

He could easily have resolved this a month or more ago the same day he sent the money back. Call a buddy at diamond, tell them where the rails are and ask them to ship them. Put the castings in a box and ship them. But he didn't. No sir. No one tells the Real King Cobra what to do. He's the most sought after artist in the free world. How dare anyone question him. He's the worlds grooviest human too. He'll give you the shirt off his back, if he gets around to it. Hope you don't freeze to death in the mean time.

So stop with the excuses already. Just like in the last thread you're making a fool out of yourself.

I'll leave the judgment and hyperbole to you.

But thanks for your concern about how I'm perceived, that's touching.

This form of logic completely escapes me. A similar analogy would be forgiving someone for murder or some other heinous crime because they were a great philanthropist and had given tens of millions of dollars to charity that helped thousands of people.

It is irrelevant that RKC is busy. Then he shouldn't have accepted the work. He shouldn't have come on here in the first thread with an incredibly pompous and arrogant attitude telling everybody they could kiss his arse if they didn't like it. He shouldn't have committed to returning the guy's property in a certain time frame if he couldn't make that happen.

With everything RKC has said (and hasn't done) all he has to do to make this go away is to just ship the damn rails back to the OP. Yet it hasn't happened. Apparently your idea of a good table mechanic and mine are substantially different. BTW, that's okay, you're welcome to like and do business with whomever you wish. I personally wouldn't let RKC on my property.

If RKC's actions both in and out of this thread are in your eyes, somehow analogous with murder, I can see how my logic would escape you.

Glen is real busy with lots of guys pulling on him. Should he not have accepted this guys $250 white Gandy job? Sure turned out that way. What RKC should now do is return the guy's money (which he has) and his rails (which he will).

I choose not to take the time table RKC offers, and I've yet to see anyone else that is available to me match the quality of his work and I'm not willing to settle, so I go without a flawless set up Brunswick Centennial. . You are right, that's my choice. As far as his attitude goes, I'm sure I would love to experience it while he was in my house making me the perfect table. I know a few cue makers that throw off huge attitude (many people that believe they are the best do so in my experience) and it always amuses me to be in their presence.

Its not super complicated. If you think there are lots of guys that are capable of doing the work RKC does, and you prefer that time table, price or attitude of them, then the choice is easy. Myself, I've seen tables he has set up and tables set up by everyone else that is available to a guy that lives on the West Coast, and I'd be glad to put up with RKC's attitude. From what I've seen pictures of, I wish Mark Gregory traveled around and lived in his truck like RKC does, but he doesn't.

although your analogy is about as stupid as they come, that is exactly what happens in the criminal justice system in this and many other countries. pay to play "justice" is fairly well documented

Ernesto lives on the west coast, and I've heard he is as good as anyone on earth.

I love the man, played on lots of tables well set up by he and Oscar. I've also played on and seen lots of great work done by Donny.

Its all a matter of opinion, just like cues, and you have to balance what you want against what you are willing to go through to get it, but as far as "as good as anyone on Earth", IMO, that RKC. If I was willing to accept "sometime around this month or that maybe" as a timeframe, I'd probably have a RKC table. I'm not, so I don't.

Thanks

What's stupid is how you twisted it dude. Sorry it went completely over your head. Wow. I'd go slower for you but I suspect even that would be a complete waste of time.

In case you haven't noticed, I'm working the over. Glen won't be posting, unless its to say he's returned to Diamond and shipped the rails off which hasn't happened yet, so I'm picking up the slack until then.

Anyone want to red rep me or call me names because you disagree with me?

Thanks

Kevin

You're welcome to your opinion and to use anybody you wish to work on your table. I had a local mechanic set up my Diamond and he did a great job without all the drama and delay RKC seems to bring to the party.

Had RKC simply come on here the first time, admitted he really screwed up, apologized and committed to fixing things (and actually doing that) without all the nasty attitude stuff, I'd never comment on him. Given his incredibly arrogant, pompous attitude, he practically begged for all the negative comments coming his way. You'd think the guy was the world's great heart surgeon, not a freaking pool table mechanic.
