Yeah exam 1 can be 'practiced' to help with higher scores for sure. (especially the wagon wheel & target drills - 40 points on offer just for those 2 sections)
My 2nd attempt exam 2 scores should hopefully be at least a little better after some practice this week.

Your BU score gives you a player rating and can qualify you to earn a diploma (Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate of Pool). All of the exam documents (with well-illustrated shot diagrams) and score sheets needed to take the exams and track your progress are available on the BU Exam Resources Page.

The following videos provide complete demonstrations of all exam drills, along with how to score them:

Please post your score after you take the exams so I can add your results to the list below. Also, if you have a video camera, please film and post videos for your exams. Instructions on how to do this can be found in the BU Exam Instructions document, and the following videos demonstrate each step in the process:

With your BU score, please also report your table size and corner pocket info shown in the following diagram:

Also please try the 10-ball "playing the ghost" drill so we can see how well a practiced BU score compares to an average "playing the ghost" score. I recommend doing the ghost drill 3 or more times (10 racks of 10-ball each) and using the middle (median) value of the 10-rack scores to help deal with the inherent (and sometimes extreme) variability. I will continue to add these scores and ratings to the BU rating list above for comparison and correlation purposes.

What happened to all of the people who said they would post scores but havn't yet?

I'm pretty sure the 88 is his total BU Score (Exam I + Exam II) and the 47 is his 10-ball ghost score. DrGonzo, please correct me if I am wrong.

That is correct

like I said, could have been better, could have been worse. I lost points on the stop shot drills in exam one when the balls werent totally straight going in, and it ended up as a stun shot down the tangent line instead of a stop shot.

Doh - sorry - I figured 88 was way too low for combined exam scores as 47 for ghost score is well above 88 BU rating ? (but like you said - ur exam scores could have been alot better - I'm sure they will be next test for you)

Please try the free BU playing-ability exams to assess your game and monitor improvement over time. Your BU score gives you a player rating and can qualify you to earn a diploma (Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate of Pool). All of the exam documents (with well-illustrated shot diagrams) and score sheets needed to take the exams and track your progress are available on the BU Exam Resources Page.

The following videos provide complete demonstrations of all exam drills, along with how to score them:

Please post your score after you take the exams so I can add your results to the list above. Also, if you have a video camera, please film and post videos for your exams. Also please try the 10-ball "playing the ghost" drill so we can see how well a practiced BU score compares to an average "playing the ghost" score.

That might be a little tough logistically, but it sounds like fun to me. If any of the users on the list live close to you, set up a match and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for posting the photos. I'm glad you are proud of your "Doctorate of Pool" diploma. I hope people won't think that the academic robe comes with the diploma ... it doesn't (although, it does look cool).

FYI, we had our first annual BU Summer School Boot Camp in Fort Collins this past weekend. BU professors Bob Jewett, Randy Russell, and I were the instructors. We had 8 students, 2 of which are AZB members (radicalone and EagleEye). EagleEye reached the "Bachelors with Honors" level by the end of the weekend. Congratulations to him! I've added his data below. 7 of the 8 students earned diplomas during the course. Some are already listed on the online official BU graduates list and a few will be submitting videos later to improve their scores.

At least I got my table cloth tightened Saturday morning - got rid of those small / slight (annoyingly cosmetic) pocket mouth bubbles in the cloth. (My pool table vendor came & took 2 rails off & re-did some stapling - I'm happy with the results)

I'm planning on doing exam 2 practice & scoring exam 2 soon. Might be another week or two though.

Thanks for allowing Di to bribe you with a nice brunch to bring over and loan me the cap & gown for the picture. It was fun to pretend I was smart for a few minutes!
