In this picture, you can clearly see the spot that Bob is referring to. The logo is intact, only a bit of the black flaked out. Very common for this to happen.

Actually, that is not entirely true. Tim had said a cue was his and ended up being a Tascarella. I certainly would not blame a cue maker that has been making them as long as Tim (as he has made 1000s of cues), but sometimes the ole memory just ain't 100% accurate.

The only thing I can say for certain, is I wouldn't buy ANY TS cues with out reservation. Seems like a TON of knock offs, and fakes out there. This one seems genuine, but who really knows. Even the people here that say the KNOW one way or the other don't REALLY know...
I find it funny however that all the people who quill over these name makers kinda make me laugh. When you have a guy like Tim Scruggs mistaking Tasc's work for a his... They all are, really just building slight variations of the same cues, that have been being built for years. I am in no way dogging the product, just sick of seeing all the same 4 point veneers with inlays... BORING. Execution is great, but still the same as the next guy IMO.
Either way, my vote was for real deal, but on the other hand I don't care. Still appears to be a fairly well built cue eitherway. If it plays good, it's worth some pretty decent cash.

If Tim built a Cue and didn't use his blank or wasn't logoing early Cues anyone could claim it.. Looks like someone it turns out did. Says a lot about what a letter of authenticity is worth. Let me give you a letter and make a couple shafts and refinish the thing for almost 1K or say nah.
Seems Barry and Pete had a knock down drag out years ago about the same bull at a trade show in front of a mob. History rePeteing itself? Puts money in the right pockets.
Oh and lets no fprget the charge for a letter of what ever you would call it. Tim did say he needed to see the Cue but rembered making a Cue just like it. My money would be on Barry and Tim.
