Hard Times 10 Ball Tournament

This 64 player Hardtimes tournament has to be one of... if not the best tournaments held in a poolroom. 64 top players with IMO only about 20% of them are dead money...maybe even less just to cash. There are top players from around the world entered. Imo this has to be the hardest 10 ball tournament to win.

You have world champions meeting up in the first round on 3 1/2 or 3 1/4" pockets. Dry conditions going to humid conditions as the day goes into night. Race to 9. Last but not least you have FREE streaming by POV POOL. I know the players are in it for the bucks but I bet most of them play in it for the glory too. You don't see any of the top or 2nd tier pros that pick they're spots to play based on the big names playing somewhere else in this one. One or two mistakes or missed balls and you can be out of the tourney very early. Pool needs more tournaments like this to show pool at its best. Johnnyt

legendary

It's great to see so many of these world class players and champions come to California;
Hard Times in Bellflower is indeed a historic and legendary poolroom....lots
of classic pool has been played there...

There are no 3.25" or 3.5" pockets there. Table one is the tightest at 3 7/8.

You are correct. But when you're playing on it and it's being streamed, they look like 3" pockets. Been there.
Yesterday one of my favorites, Alex P, was completely out of it in his match on that table. He lost 9 zip. I hope he gets it together today. I was a ref there yesterday and will return tomorrow for the final day.
Because of the field of top players in this tournament, after the first couple of rounds and that 20% JohnnyT talked about are eliminated, it's up for grabs . I can't see making any one even close to being a favorite.

this is a monster tournie. Big profs to POV Pool for the stream. I throughly enjoyed it last night and will turn in today.

Is it over? Who won?

Hard Times

Thanks POV Pool!! I really appreciate the stream, and the tournament is amazing. Can't wait to watch the matches later today.

For those that have never been there, it is a must for any L.A. visit. When I was living there years ago I went to the Tuesday Night Tournament and half the field were world beaters!!!:eek: Oscar, Bernardo(King Kong),Keith,Efren, and a slew of others. I decided to duck any action and spend time talking to Tad Kohara about cues!!:cool:

Thanks again POV!!!
