This is just a great day give away to first poster in 48 lower states that posts they want it.

I went and got some groceries for my 90 year old mother and than sat down and talked to her. You would not think this that big a deal but around 5 years ago she was deaf for 3 years. She had one of the implants done. It crossed my mind as I left and put a big smile on my face. Hopefully someone can use this tool and put a smile on they're face.

I have 2 of these............. the vertical piece is on backwards on yours.

Tom I got the holder today. Thanks I really appreciate it. I talked to the guys at the poolhall today and it sounds like I'll be ordering more tips soon.
 
I have a tip for using this router mount.

When you tighten the 1/4-20 screw that holds the router, the head of the screw keeps gouging up the aluminum slot. To prevent this, buy a grade 8...... 1/4 inch washer. Grind or file 2 sides of the washer to fit into the slot in the router mount. I held mine with pliers and ground the washer on my bench grinder. Dip in water to keep it cool. Use this washer under the head of the 1/4 inch screw.

No more damage to the aluminum mount.

Kim,

Have you found a way to mount the router horizontal with this mount ?? Or is it good for verticle mount only ??

I know this has been discussed before but I can't remember. I searched and didn't find the thread either. I want to find a way to mount a router horizontal on my Taig lathe.

Hello,

Todd modified that mount to be able to mount the router either way. Here are some pictures of the modification.

Also instead of letting the screw sit inside the slot I like to just use a longer screw with a extra thick washer and
tighten it down on the outside of the groove.

I like your suggestion of using a longer screw and large flat washer. Below are pics of the router mounted vertically and also horizontally (perpendicular to the bed).
