Just a question.

Who is the best player, playing with one of your cues full time?

Has anyone sponsored or offered to sponsor a player with a cue?

JV

I have found that pro players that are not being paid to play with a cue often switch back and forth between various cues. At one time Danny Harriman played with one of my cues. Snooker John Turpin also played with one of mine. I have lost touch with both of them and do not know what either is playing with now. I have had a few pros ask me to sponsor them, but I build too few of cues to give alot of product away.

For us at Keith Kues.

Danny Olsen
J.D. Prestigaurd
Sam Disse
Tanner Pruess - (once his is complete)
Mauri Johnson
of course, Keith Hanssen.

Over seas, from AZB, we have Maik and VolturiCases both playing with Keiths! Hoping to add more soon!

Mostly semi locals guys that travel a little. A couple of guys in there play strong short stop speed, but most are around strong B or above players. The cool thing is every one in that list (except Keith of course) PAID for their cue, grant it with a nice discount, but still paid. Which means to me that they maid the conscious decision to play with a Keith. I find that pretty cool. Hope fully I can add myself to this list someday soon! (I mean being a good player, I already own several cues...)

For me it was Dennis Orcollo until Tiger Products stepped in and well money talks! I wish him the best, it's a finacial necessity for most if not all pro's. I'm no longer interested in sponsoring players, they need to make a living playing pool. Thats is a very difficult task! They need companies with money to endorse them.

Raphael Martinez. Until someone stole the cue from him. :frown:

One of my cues is playing for the hammer in the BCAPL Nationals tonight at 6PM in the Masters division. I don't sponsor the guy, but we are friends. He won the cue at a tournament, and loves it.

Concerning my cues: Pericles Custom Cue, some well known billiard world class players:

Richard BITALIS
Vice 3 cushion World champion 1983
Vice 3 cushion European champion 1989

Dave CHRISTIANI
5 times Billiard European Champion

And more to come, ranked in the 30 first billiards players in the world.

I am very happy with...

Nice resume' .... do they use L/D shafts? :D

Brian is a good player. He was around Atlanta for a good while a few years ago. Tell him we said hello.

Still love my Keith Kue.... best hitting standard maple shafts out there.

Best hitting shafts and cues period Danny! I'll learn ya yet! LOL:grin-square::grin-square::grin-square:

Well I put the shaft on a different butt once.

It fixed the other cue, but didn't feel as good. So yeah, I guess you're right there.

Hello,

Sorry for long answer but what a great topic is low deflection shafts...

Short answer: no, 3 cushion world class players playing with my cues are not using low deflection shafts!

Now, I will give you my opinion, not the opinion of a guy making 3 cushion cues but the opinion of a 3 cushion player: 15 years ago I was international 3 cushion player and #6 in France Masters.

Low deflection shafts: first it does not means zero deflection shafts... and most important is that when you aim (with any kind of cue or shaft) you will need to adjust yourself and adapt yourself to reach the point you aimed...

How you will quantify deflection? In oz? Gallon? Grams? Inches? So how you will quantify your adjustment?

On a billiard table adjustments are everywhere when you decide to reach your aim, it will depends of cloth, humidity, speed of stroke, stroke velocity and of course english... Etc...

Best example is a cat with 3 three legs, this cat will adapt, adjust itself to run as much quicker as another cat with 4 legs...

Regular shafts or LD shafts, for both you will need to adapt yourself.

For me, low deflection shafts is just marketing tricks to make more money and give good reasons for some people missing their shots with regular shafts.

Playing good billiard is always the same as cue making (and finally everything): skills, training and experience...

IMO of course

Well,

I would have to say:

Alex Pagulayan
Corey Deuel
and Phil Burford

And yes, they all play with Low Squirt shafts.

I'm sure everyone knows both Alex and Corey, but Phil is pretty new to the US scene. Phil has been using our cue shafts for many years, and recently started to play more outside of Europe. He will definitely be force to be reckoned with. Mean while, both Alex and Corey have really stepped up their games since coming on board with us. Both have not only won some tournaments recently, but have also placed very high in most they have entered.

As for whether or not LD (really low cue ball squirt) is just hype or not, I rely more on commentary from our customers than anything else. In a few weeks, we will go the the APA nationals in Vegas. I expect, like every year, to have at least a couple of players come up to us at the booth and complain that they didn't think buying a cue shaft would raise their skill level, but it has. It happens every year.

Shoot well!

Nice to hear Dave has done so well, I have lost touch with him after he moved.
From around 20 to 12 years ago we played in the same hall and on ocasion played together.

I don't believe he ever beat me playing pool, but I sure as hell had no prayer of a chance against him playing on a table with no pockets.

Last time I saw him, maybe 6 or 7 years ago he was getting ready to move but did mention
he was having a tough time playing professionally which really is a shame as good as he plays.

gr. Dave

It is my opinion...

People asked me for Predator shafts and I put Predator shafts, some other asked for OB shafts and I put OB shafts!...

The best cue is the one you're comfortable with and you trust in... LD of not :-)

In any case, improving the game why not but very difficult to evaluate.
With 3 cushion game it should be easier with average but look at BLOMDAHL: is average is about the same as before playing with molinari but molinari is giving him a big bunch of money.

BLOMDAHL still BLOMDAHL with any kind of cue.
