Diamond Table Refinish

I just bought a Diamond smart table that's the standard rosewood color. Since it came out of a pool hall, there were tons of stickers on it. I tried removing one and there was quite a bit of adhesive that was left behind after removing a sticker. Since I didn't know any better, I used Goof Off to remove the adhesive. It not only removed the adhesive, it turned the area a white color. I talked to Diamond at the BCA event and they said to use something called "buffing rouge." I've never heard of this and can't find any information on the internet. They said the color is solid through the wood so I'm assuming it can be sanded and buffed. Has anyone had any experience with this? I don't want to make it any worse. The area is about 4" tall by about 10" wide. Any suggestions would be appreciated to bring the natural color back.
