I don't think that was the reason that the MatchRoom WPC doesn't exist right now. Might want to check your sources.

I have never talked to Barry Hearn nor anyone in Matchroom. However I heard a different story as to why they have zero interest in promoting the WPA 9 Ball World Championships.

It has to do with money but not because the 9 Ball WPC under Matchroom was a money loser.
 
The only game that is played and understood by the masses is 8-ball. Change the name of bonus ball, change the colors, change to game to 8-ball and you have something every league in the us can and would consider playing. Teams would form with the shot to compete against the pros. It seems like the only way to make this work and be profitable to me.

The team concept, shot clock, 3-pockets, and cut of pockets are all great ideas. And it would be easy to sell, what is it? Team 8-ball using only 3 pockets. Can't get much easier to explain than that! It's sad when the pros playing don't even know the rules to bonus ball.

playing 8 ball into 3 pockets is brutal. I have gave up that spot before, i got 3 the other guy had all 6. I won but the other guy wasnt a very good player-thts the only reason. If both sides are playing into 3 pockets much like BB there is lots of luck required on the break. I think the 3 pocket part of BB is ok for that game, but thats about it.

i agree nobody should care, except a few people who are involved in pool should not say anything bad for a little while-thats it. that way they wont regret what they said later. they know who they are. not you thats for sure:)


did i mention my $? no, so why are you still talking about it, counting me down, make your move or STFU, i'm board with your jealous ass already-if your so smart go get your own and stop sweating people who did/do

With the addition of combos and caroms for a continuation I really like the three pocket rule. It makes it even more important to be able to execute all of the shots. Then of course you have the one pocket shots and golf shots.

I hope the game survives and thrives.

thats rite, it is a good game for people who play at B or higher. The better you play the better the game becomes IMO. there are lots of moves unique to it and cool stragity when one side is on purple and the other on orange, if both sides are on the same color then its a little simpler.

What I dont like is the "Shoot out" rule at the end of the time limit, there is way to much luck involved with the break, there needs to be some adjustments made so there are less "shootouts", I was told there were only about 1 of 12 matches that ended in a shoot out before a few rule changes and the pocket size, this was over a year ago. but with the current rules there are lots of "Shoot outs" and they are not exciting and too much luck involved. that can be solved tho, its not perfected by a long shot but it will be someday-i hope.

Yeah I agree about the break. At least a shootout is only worth one point but then again that one point could be THE point I guess.

oh god i played bad, i think i made 3 balls in a row once. i was full of moonshine(im not a drinker) and full of pills(stopped those almost 5 years ago)

that was the worst i ever played in 25 years, good Lord, Scooter got me in that game and i had ZERO biz even being in the room. I should have went to bed. I did make 2 balls in a row several times. never made 4 in a row.


We can play some if you really think i play like that and spot me accordingly, window is open, wide open.


Or steak Clearly and i'll play him some, or Dip he can bet what he can stand. or Disco, ;)
