Hey CJ just ordered the banks ppv and wanna say its really good. Ordered the toi ppv awhile back to so not every thing about that is fresh in my mind. Anyway I know you've discussed it a lot on the forums but I never made the connection that toi and pivoting are two different things. So my question is when do you pivot and when do you use toi and do you sometimes use them together? I practiced for about a week with nothing but toi and really like the results I got. Then I got the banks ppv and saw pivoting and toi and sometimes together. Can you shed a little light on this for me.

You need to learn both types because when Banking with TOI you are producing inside spin, and pivoting you produce "outside" spin on the cue ball. Both of these are necessary for cue ball control. Anyone that banks with just center or outside is missing out on a whole other deminsion of the game.....the 'Touch of Inside" world, and that's the one Efren has used to amaze one pocket players. Virtually every shot that Efren produces that people go "WOW" is produced with inside on the cue ball......we use it to "Stun" the cue ball severely, as well as bending and edging the ball behind the stack on one pocket runs.

The TOI Banking also produces the pocket acceptance spin where the object ball bends in towards the center of the pocket, giving the player a larger "pocket zone".

The TOI AND the Pivot System are initiated with the back hand, which steers the action and is also coordinated with a slight "roll" in the weight of the feet. I show this in detail in the TIP Banking Secrets which can be seen for $4.95 at www.thegameistheteacher.com ..... for that price ALL my videos can be seen for a limited time. I want everyone to have plenty to practice. 'The Game Will Be Your Teacher'

CJ, can you give a definition of each and their usages:

TOI

Pivoting

Parallel shifting

you'll have to watch the video 5 times to pick up the subliminal teachings,

CJ, can you give a definition of each and their usages:

TOI

Pivoting

Parallel shifting

TOI - The Touch of cuing the ball inside

Pivoting - Moving the Backhand right to make the tip go left, and vica versa

Parallel Shifting - Moving the back hand right, and allowing the tip to move slightly right as well...and vica versa. (this isn't exactly parallel, but for the small distance it's best to think of it that way. If you roll your cue on the table it will show you the correct plane, the backhand is slightly ahead the further it goes.

I show this in detail on the video, you'll have to watch the video 5 times to pick up the subliminal teachings, it's over 40 chapters, and no one can pick it up without multiple viewings....I would recommend every day for a week to dramatically improve your game, and also practice an hour a day.
