back in the day of titlist cues made by brunswick it was very common to see 1.35 to 1.45 in cue butts, then in the 70,s seems that butts got into the 1.25's. when i started about 15 years ago most were in the 1.25's. today is a different can of worms, each builder seems to have his or her own taper and most cues i have seen in the last 10 years range from 1.20 to 1.25, with thinner butts being the trend.
