Bogus Ball..from the start

Eye yam sew confused! Originally there was a Lenny SomethingorAnother who was the spokesman. Then for a while Nathan seemed to be doing that job. Next up Scott F. was handling social media announcements. Now we have that honored fixture of AZB, Fatboy, keeping us up-to-date. Well, almost.

I thought the official press staff rotation was:
1) Barry Bremmer
2) Barry Bremmer & Luxury
3) Nathan & Luxury
4) Lenny, Nathan, & Luxury
5) Random people who wanted to be on the winning side
6) Crickets
7) Fatboy, Lenny, Nathan, Randoms, Yay-sayers
8) Crickets

Oh, and Kim Spies apparently.

No offense Luxury, just ribbing you ;)

no problem. as soon as Nathan & FatBoy pay-up, i'll get straight w/ you - but - you HAVE to drink WHISKEY. and i'll drink w/ you!

I'm down with whiskey. Or Tennessee bourbon. Or scotch. Some cognac. I also love rye. Wine. Lager. Ale on occasion, but not too much. Wheat beer with lemon is tasty. Not really a stout drinker, but I can handle it in moderation. Tequila's always a good choice too.

Is it wrong I'm thinking about this at 8 in the morning at work? Nahhhh.

playing pool and drinking red bull is what it means. I drink water as well. thats what it means.:)

What is this water you speak of?

Oh, found it:

Natural Light is a reduced-calorie light pilsner brewed by Anheuser-Busch since its introduction on July 31, 1977. Its ingredients are listed as water, barley malt, cereal grains, yeast, and hops.

mmmm....my fav...

He pretty much summed it up, IMO.

We like pool, we like the players.

We don't like them being taken advantage of.

You forgot one other thing..

We have 8b, 9b, 10b, 1p, banks and god knows what else..

But they choose to feed people some weird mish-mash ala Bonusketball?

bonusketball.jpg

Just because it was a poorly planned, poorly managed and poorly executed venture doesn't mean that we want them to fail. Seems like you could say that about themselves the way they went about it. :speechless:

I was a huge promoter and proud of it and I don't mind a ribbing at all but if you go way back a couple years ago I posted on AZ that I thought the rules were too confusing for Bonus Ball to ever be a success. :(

I really did want it to be. I LOVED having so much pool to watch all the time and gambling on it was the best sweating I'd ever experienced.

wow, you're high-maintenance!
i only drink whiskey.

KK9...How did that happen, since NOBODY made a ball on that table with 2" pockets?  Note: A 2" pocket will not accept a 2 1/4" ball. At least you can't scratch either! LOL You really meant 4" pockets didn't you?

I'm getting a headache.

KK9 <-- not in a good mood after just getting thrashed by a roadplayer in American Rotation on 2" GCIV pockets. Phoooey. Tomorrow is another day.

Oh Geez, don't get all technical with facts and sh1t on me Scott! Actually, it was one of those adjustable pocket tables. 2" for me, and widened to 5" for him! ;)

Anyway, that table is super tight. You can't begin to fit 2 balls in the throat. It's extended Superspeed rails, not shimmed (thanks Earl for that). Probably 4" -
4 1/8" (I'll ask today, got another Am rotation match in a couple hours).

So while I play at another hall with standard GC III pockets and then travel and am put on this slit of a table, well.. it takes a little getting used to.

Back to thread. Bonus Ball is the only game I ever want to play. Still waiting for the instruction manual in the mail. :grin-square:

On the other hand, I see on some of the press releases things like:

Bob,

I said all I can without breeching confidentially agreements, and I don't know anything more(a little but not much). Anything else would be speculation. I have my own interpretation of what i heard but that would be out of line for me to post & serve no real purpose for anything or anyone. I heard things "Have never been better" in pro pool-for the future than they are right now. Now if that comes to fruition or not remains to be seen. I have no idea, and If I did I couldnt say because it would mess up press releases etc. But I don't know.

I only said what I did 3 -4 weeks ago so a few people would hold off saying bad things that could compromise their future working in pool-(not the players), And they have, if i'm wrong then i was wrong, if i am right pool will be great. most important is the Pool Education program for kids(forgive me if i have the name incorrect) that's the real long term solution of pool-kids playing.

kindest regards

Eric:smile:

I'm on hold and I want my big fat announcement.

You promised a big fat announcement if I wanted.

I waited.

Where's my announcement?

Huh?

Back when i was a Country Club kinda guy. I had a rich pal that got divorced. He was dating this gal and that gal. wife-shopping, and one of his rich clients says, "let me hook you up with a girl". Couple of phone calls later he's on a date with this ex-Playboy playmate. They go out a few times, start acting like adults etc, and after a month of this he says to her "look I like you but I'm looking to get married so are you and I just don't see you as my wife" (honest guy that he is). She's all "no problem no hard feelings it was fun" and throws him one of those things adults do for the road.

Two days later, ring ring, its a new ex-Platboy centerfold calling. She says, centerfold # one said I should call you because maybe we would hit it off. They start dating.

Wash - rinse- repeat.

These gals have a referral network of rich guys and just pass them around until they hook up. THAT was a rotation. Why he hopped off that merry-go-round and married a mean woman is I guess for him to understand.

middle of the month, somewhere between the 15th-18th as I recall is the "meeting", i dont recall the specific date. its either before the straight pool thing or after it, not the "make it happen" one, but the other straight pool event. What ever the out come is we will hear about it soon after, i feel bad for the players who did their job abd havent been paid. Problem is even if they do get paid-i doubt it covers the collateral damage (other costs they incurred), I respect them for taking a chance, I never got a refund on a failed business. No "take backs" in real life.

I used to love the gold diggers, i'd flash all the $$$, good life, etc get what I wanted before the "shopping trip" and tell them good bye. I'd beat them at their own game. They are all whores(the gold diggers) they just get paid differently. If I didnt get what I wanted before the shopping trip then I would have to pass. I don't like whores. I don't pay them or buy presents.

That was fun to watch their greed make them fall apart. Greed is a funny thing, makes girls do stupid things and puts lead in a pool players stroke(sometimes). I don't miss it tho, it gets old after a while. It was fun to beat the at their game for a little while, it got easy with practice. But like many things after you get good the thrill is gone.

Oh yeah you take your shot and that means you take your chances. Sad thing about the players is that times for them are so desperate to begin with that they take desperate shots. And desperate shots can entail disproportionate collateral damage.
