I understand that Hercek learned from Spain but he's not Spain.
Don't get me wrong Hercek is a great cue maker but Rauenzahn makes
Awesome full spliced cues as well. But what makes them so different or not?

Preference, wait time, price, etc.

What makes any cue different from another...
What's the difference between a Pollock and a Picaso?
What's the difference between a Bently and a Rolls?

c'mon man...

So are you saying Rauenzahn uses low quality materials and his build quality is not as good as Hercek?

I don't know if this is what hes asking , what's the quality difference, I have an -r- and its quality is great

Hercek

I cant speak for Jerry R but, Joel is one of the most proffessional cuemakers that I have dealt with, his quality is beyond all expectations, is personal and nice and over delivers on his commitments. Old school meets new.

?

You're right... Like all great students, they soon surpass the master. And Hercek has taken his cues to another level, including outstanding design...

Originality.

- B <---- someone needed to say it

Don't understand. Spain isn't the first full splice and neither is
Hercek. Hercek builds his full splice and so does Rauenzahn
From scratch. So??? Originality?

I dont think Jerry has problem with originality, there are lot of examples of his crazy good work with interesting designs in gallery section- tons of them are full spilces

That's what you conclude from the analogy of Cadillac vs Rolls? Which of these are YOU saying use low quality materials and lesser build quality?

Freddie <~~~ it's like comparing a Bentley to a Rolls?

Maybe caddy and rolls was bad comparison. How about Rolls and Bently?

they're just different ways of building a similar product.

That's what I meant to type, I was going to say Lincoln and Caddy.

That's my mistake. I edited to reflect. That's what I meant.

You're only talking about the full-splice construction. The originality in design that Joel brings to the table including his execution and nod to master artistry in other disciplines set him apart from most other cuemaker regardless of splice construction.

Freddie <~~~ and it ain't close

Joel thinks outside the box, design wise.

Jerry thinks 'classic and traditional' design wise.

What is the difference between a Joel Hercek full splice cue and a Jerry R. full splice cue?

Hercek's cues will cost you $3000 - 4,000 more than Jerry's and the wait on getting a cue from Joel is several years.

The wait if you are on the list is several years, if you didn't get on the list before 2009 then it could be much longer.

I just talked to Joel today, ironically enough, and he told me where he was in relation to order date and when I could expect my order to be coming around. I haven't spoken to him since 2005 when I got on his list and was just checking in with him.

He is currently working on orders from 2003, same as Laurie @ SW, and that is part of the differentiation between him and Jerry. I am not trying to say Jerry doesn't make a great cue, he certainly does, but he is not in the same class as JH as far as design and creativity.

I really like Jerry's cues but IMO there is no comparison to the cues Joel has put out.

I would certainly like to see the 3k difference I have see many Rs cues and IMHO his full splice work is as good as anybody's he just does not have the name that's the only difference I see
