On http://www.insidepool.tv many people are griping in chat about commercials during the stream.
From what I understand these are generic ustream ads and not pool sponsor ads.

If you're using one of the modern web browsers out there (firefox or chrome, but I think they make it for
internet explorer too) just get a plugin called "Adblock Plus".
It will block these commercials and most other video commercials,
along with banners, popup ads, etc.

Go here: http://adblockplus.org

It should detect what browser you're using when you visit the site,
and offer a download link. It takes seconds to add it to your browser
and you don't need to pay or do anything further.

If you like a website (such as AZBilliards) you can add it to your "whitelist",
a list of specific sites where you want to allow ads to come through.
That way you don't have to feel like you're robbing them of potential ad money.

Ok, if this works, I'm going to kiss your feet! I went there, it immediately detected I had IE. I clicked download, hit run, run. And BAM! Was done in literally less than 30 seconds. There was no attempt to sneak in a toolbar or whatever. Awesome download experience. I'll soon find out how effective it is for me and post back here.

Maybe that will give people some added comfort to also do it.

Thanks CreeDo!!!

And I'm sure you're right, the ads are from a Ustream bot of sorts, not insidepooltv.

I believe it will only work with firefox could be wrong). With that said.

These ads help pay the people that are streaming the live pool for free. Blocking them only hurts the person doing them for us as a free service.

No IndsidePool does not recieve any revenue from those ads. Those ads are from Ustream. Go ahead and block to your hearts content.

True. No effect on Insidepool.

So far so good for this new user. I use Internet Explorer. In the previous match a commercial came on at the last minute of the match on the most critical shot of the match.

But now, I'M FREE! :happydance: :woot:

Thanks Creedo!

Glad I could help. I forgot how frustrating ads can be nowadays... when I visit youtube on my phone and they make me sit through some pre-mercial I usually end up just saying screw it and then both youtube and the advertiser lose out. The internet's a lot less tedious with adblock.
