The REAL problem with pool

hahaha nice! and good play and personality are major factors of people liking you! dont care about your weight, being humble is more important! i use to be over weight, and when i lost the weight i thought people would like me more because of my looks. but i found that personality significantly out weighs looks. nobody likes someone who is stuck up, and people pick up on those characteristics very quickly!

Oddly enough the best profit center in this pool room is the "stone cold nuts". ;) 'The Ganja is the Teacher'

For another revenue stream, I would install a very small Laundromat (with service) and a couple of large hot tubs at this place for removing that pungent thumbprint of Mary Jane for the ride home.

etc to take into account.

I believe another huge problem, and maybe CJ can confirm this, is the space rent on a place big enough to hold ten tables in an area where there is a decent concentration of people. That probably runs 5,000$ a month. Power is 2,500$ pay one person 2,500$. Ten tables at 10$ an hour 10 hr a day(maximum, I know) 6 days a week is 6,000$ a week x 4 = 24,000$ a month. Take away ten and your left with 14,000$. Where does that go and what is left. Probably not much, and that problem hurts distribution of the sport. if that's the right word.

There's taxes, advertising, "good will", costs of goods sold, theft, etc to take into account.

I believe your labor cost is optimistic...it's usually about 20% of your gross sales if you're serving food and drinks with some level of management.

Place ceiling fans 8' apart (all over the ceiling) - every other one going opposite directions....this is the "secret" low cost remedy for smoke filled environments.

The real problem with pool is nobody ouside of the game cares, Ive spent alot of time playin when I was younger, i got decent, won local tournys, been to Vegas, etc about all the high points a non pro can experience. And what does it mean? ouside of the pool hall or league no one cares. It needs outside influence to grow. People watch other sports like nascar, football etc. and never played or experianced that sport. But since its admired by so many it continues to grow.

That is just an expense CJ and will not result in an additional revenue stream. :D

In this day and age it's rare to even see someone smoking.

The real expense is when patrons don't come back because they smell like smoke when they get home. It's actually the cheapest way to deal with the issue of smoke.

In this day and age it's rare to even see someone smoking...I'm certainly glad I don't.

I watched my Dad die from it when I was 25, he was 64 & just getting ready to retire. I remember the 10 years leading up to it with all the coughing & hacking. I never smoked a day in my life.

I remember the story a comic told, I believe it was George Carlon.

He says, do you remember your first drag on a cigarette?

He mimicks taking a drag & then starts comically coughing & hacking real bad for about 30 seconds.

Then he stops & says, 'Your body was trying to tell you something...

that sh!t don't belong in there'.

I'm glad I quit smoking 15 years ago.

If you're telling me that some cross-section winds will keep the Ganja smell off your clothes in a Ganja Room, I ain't buying it. :D
