What are the value of Lee Peppers cues?

Since he's no longer making cues, I was wondering if the value would go up? He has made some beautiful pieces and it's a shame he no longer build cues. A man of his talent should share his work with the world. It sucks that he cannot do this anymore.

Do you think they are going to appreciate?

Also, lets post pics of some nice cues of his. Not my cue or picture but this thing is a beauty.

In this case, I'd say the value is going to decline. Reference: Zinzola.

If Lee were an "A" list cuemaker and retired with a clean slate regarding orders and deposits owed, I'd say the value of his cues would increase.

But, he's not and he seems to owe quite a few people $$ or cues.

Prediction: The value of Peppers' cues will remain the same or decline now that he's "retired".

It's a shame that they will decline.

On the bright side, I will purchase some in the used market.

Fantastic deals.

I always thought that his cues looked nice, i even entered a couple of the raffles, but i'm obviously glad now that i didn't win.

If they look good and play good the one that are out there will have some worth to somebody.

I would say most people wouldn't pay $100 for it if they knew what a pos move he pulled on so many people here on az

I have no beef in the situation.

It's about cues nothing personal for me.

I own some cues made by people who weren't very well liked, so it's not about the cues, it's really about stuffed peppers for me.
It wasn't personal for me either until someone brought up stuffed peppers, which could possibly tarnish the memory of my mothers stuffed peppers.
Lee Pepper turned out to be more of a raffle-con thief than a cuemaker, so the value of his cues is in the eyes of the beholder.

I would think part of a cue's value is the overall reputation of the builder.

the reputation can go up or down while the maker is in business and also long after he is not.

You can also get some fantastic deals on cues built by cuemakers who did not rip-off a bunch of good AZ members, and leave the business in disgrace.

I totally agree with this. Take your money and spend it where it deserves to be spent.

True enuff as there are many makers out there that can use the business. I have 2 of Lee's conversions but would probably hesitate to buy a used one. He did make a nice cue but I wouldn't want the Karma or general feeling that would come with the cue.

When I played with the cue, I would probably think of all the people that got ripped in the end.

That is a nice one Chuck.

Sort of like owning Nazi paraphanalia? Just kinda creepy?

I've always felt that when my favorite cuemaker starts getting compared to Hitler, it may be time to try something else, even if it plays real good.
This inspires me to write a movie about a serial killer cuemaker who kills his victims with blocks of exotic hardwoods, and then turns the murder weapon into beautiful custom cues.

Lee Peppers

I had one that had an excellent fit, finish and the shafts were some of the best I have ever had. Would actually like to have them back.

That being said, I had it before all this fallout over his cue making happened. So was it my cues fault? Did it make my cue play any less? Was it my fault for buying it?

Simple answer is no. His reputation and future is tarnished but his cues stand on any merit as how they were made, finished and how they played.

The only reason they have lost value is the cue market as a whole.

Great fit and finish and looks damn good. I hope they go cheap.

Depends if they have been delivered yet or not.

I would only buy one of his cues if I knew he put in a tremendous amount of blood, sweat, and tears in it...specifically blood. As in physical agony equal to the amount he's placed on those he's screwed...

by tenfold.

Seeing that you put it that way. Yes. I have a lapel pin with a swastika on it that my father brought back. Considering that it came off a dead German, it is a little creepy to take it out of its box and hold it.

That and I have a pocket knife with two blades that came the same way. The white material is kind of yellowish and wonder if its not ivory. Well made it is.

Ya know, you just might be onto to something here. I believe that there would be some pretty twisty things that would come off of that. Night mares, dreams that would accompany the cue and maybe the owner would be compelled to commit more crimes. The cue would go from owner to owner.

Who ever owned the cue would win some serious money games but it would come with a price. Can you handle owning it?

Start writing.
