Are there any pro pool instructors in the RP?

The phillippines is the pool capital of the planet. Pro instructors, I don't know.
But pro/semipro players who will teach you? Probably thousands of them.
And I'm guessing lessons will be inexpensive too. You might ask around One Side,
in Manila. You might bump into high level players like Efren Reyes,
Francisco Bustamante, Antonio Lining, Carlo Biado, etc.

I just moved here about a year ago...I need all the help I can get.

You're in Pampanga? I'm sure you'll find somebody decent there to teach you...

I'll be in Pampanga next month (Oct). PM me and maybe we can meet up, depending on where you live. I can help you with stroke improvement and other things. I also have several contacts there I can refer you to for on going instruction.

Cheers

Yes I usually spend some time in ac. Got several friends there. I also go to Subic Bay sometimes. I don't spend much time in Manila.

Thanks for the offer Bob, but I was thinking about a Pinoy instructor...I guess there aren't any. Which speaks volumes about how much hiring a pool instructor matters?
When arguably the best pool country on earth don't have any?
It's all the school of hard knocks here I guess? :( Karl

That is the closest to the truth, they learn the hard way through gambling. If you lose, there will be no food on the table tonight.

Back in the early 70s, I used to skip school just to watch Efren in action, Lucky 13 was just a jeepney ride (5 miles at the most) away from me. Jose Parica's turf was also my 'hood, and it really upped my game tremendously just by watching these 2 in action. They used to be wide-eyed bystanders too, watching the great Jr. Quiapo, the Dacer brothers, Boy Bicol, Ramon "Champion" Ancaja and a host of others duke it out back in the day.

Parica's dad was a cop who owns a "bilyaran". I've never gotten tired of hearing him tell stories about the young Jose. While still learning the game, "Amang" stands atop soda cases to reach his shots. He got better and better, and he and his dad started looking for action everywhere.

you can visit Star Billiards in Quezon City and have them screen you. you'll meet a lot of people whom you can learn from.

Lester Dulawan. Always at Puyat Superbowl Makati Cinema Square. Well known and one of the very best instructors. Fluent English. Educated.
