There is a story that goes along with this cue and the reason why it's up for trade.
I recently purchased this cue from Kot Bigemot. I have been lusting after this cue since I first hit with it at the SBE this year. I met Kot at Sandcastle Billiards and he was playing with it and after some small talk and finding out we were both from the Boston area, Kot and I played for a few hours together. He let me try the Dunkel and I LOVED the way it hit/played. I wasn't active on the board when he listed it for sale the first time so I missed out on it. As it turns out, he got it back a few days ago and I just happened to get together with him and I bought it while we were out playing.
Although the cue plays/hits fantastic, it took me a while to get used to it because of the length. We played for a few hours and it wasn't until the end that I really started to feel it and string some balls together. We played a fun race to 5 and I ran the last rack pretty effortlessly. I played with it again last night for a few hours and I'm starting to get used to it and I know I could play lights out with it but... I have a PFD coming next month that will be my player and it's standard length and I don't want to take the time to get used to this cue and then start all over with a standard 58" cue when the PFD is finished. Otherwise, this cue would NEVER be available. It really plays THAT good.
Anyway, I am interested in trading it for a standard 58" cue. I would prefer something fullsplice and wrapless but I will consider cues with wraps as well. Ideally I'm looking for cues from PFD and Murrell, but again, I will consider other makers as well. I will also entertain cash offers as well but I would prefer to trade for something I can play with until my PFD is finished.
Just an FYI, I'm not interested in plain janes, production line cues, or anything with a low deflection shaft.
The cue will be shipped out with ONE shaft but Steve is making a brand new 13mm shaft that will shipped out to whoever gets the cue once it arrives. It does come with the 3 piece JP set.
The cue was made from a Mark Bear blank and has an absolutely beautiful peice of Cocobolo into curly birdseye maple. The photos do not do this cue justice. It is in very good condition with only a few very light dings in the finish.
From what I understand, Steve currently has a 2 year wait for a cue. Combine that with the fact that he will not be making any more sneaky pete's (and Bear blanks are no longer available) and this is a must have.
Here are the specs:
Butt-15.90 oz
Shaft-4.20 oz/12.5mm (very stiff old growth) Ivory Ferrule and Kamui Black medium tip.
SOLD!!!
