So they have been saying charity auction, so I am assuming a % goes to charity.

Now, the first 2 bids were blind bids. You get to pick your player. I believe the first 2 bids were like 2500 and 2200.

The rest were bids on the remaining players.

Total money pool ended up 4600.

Shannon said the split would be 40 ... 30 ... 20 ... 10 percent.

Well even before whatever charity gets, first place at 40% is 1840 if my math is right. How are the 2 blind bidders doing even if they win? They bid over 2 grand each! If they win they loose. :scratchhead:

Am I missing something?

Yes, your totals are off. Total raised was $9950 I believe.

Shane Van Boening, 2,700
Jayson Shaw, 1,900
Chris Melling, 600
Oscar Dominguez, 500
Corey Deuel, 400
Van-Van, 600
Keith Bennett, 200
Darren Appleton, 700
Imran Majid, 200
Karl Boyes, 300
Tommy Kennedy, 200
The Greek, 250
Jeremy Sossei, 300
Niels Feijen, 400
Mike Dechaine, 200
Johnny Archer, 500

So first place could get 40% of $9950 = $3980 (if all the money is paid out)

If they give a portion to charity then subtract that from the $9950 and then do the math on the remainder.

Van-Van for $600 was a nice get

I can't believe that's all the Calcutta raised.
We had a 48 player tourney last month and the Calcutta total was that high.

that was for the final 16 PLUS most felt that once SVB was off the board you were aiming at 30% (or 2nd) ...

I remember a tournament a couple of months ago and a couple of friend's of mine had all of the one who came in first and half of 2nd, 3rd and all of 4th, and they only won 65.00 after getting their bids back.. Many went for over 100. Needless to say, these two no longer bid in that Calcutta.
