Moving Diamond 7' Table - DFW

Does anyone know of someone in the DFW or Tulsa area that can move a 7' diamond table? I'm trying to get it from Tulsa to DFW. Or maybe someone that just has the cart? Do I even need the cart?

I've already talked to Barry and Jeff and no go.

You can build the dolly yourself for about 20-30 worth of materials and a couple of straps if you are at all handy. If that's the route you would like to go I can show you a picture of one my buddy built that works great. And give you dimensions. It has a 7 foot valley table on it out in my shop right now.

Is it built to handle the extended rails on the Diamond, I only ask because the Valley has flat sides. If one is not carefull, they can bust the side skirts off the rails on a Diamond flipping it up on it's side without taking into count that the rails are wider than the box of the table.

Call Aaron at Diamond to see if they have any delivery trucks in the area at the moment, or any time soon, if so, they'd be able to handle the move real easy.

We went into a bar up in Portland last weekend and picked up these two 7 foot valleys and the old duffer there almost pitched a fit insisting we needed to take the slate out. Told us how many tables he had moved in his life and basically how stupid we were. He got so uptight he left before we tipped them up and rolled them out with one hand. I hope he's there when Katie gets her diamonds next week so he can see how it works.

Are you installing them for her?

In fact, that might be the perfect time to pick your Diamond rails up and bring them back with me to recalibrate them at my shop, then drop them back off again on my way to California.

I decided to set it up as is and see how it plays. That way it can be functional until the day comes that all the precision work can be done on site here and I won't risk being without a table for any length of time. I really like to practice every single day and get very moody when I can't.

That lady who is getting the diamonds down there in Portland is really sweet. Make sure you leave her with a plan to maintain them as she has had Shehan Jr. taking care of her Valleys and trust me she was not getting her money's worth. We scraped a half gallon of old glue off each slate. One of them had a hard plastic rack inside of it with the 75 pieces of chalk and the 10 lbs of dust. How the heck did that get in there?

No problem, there's two table mechanic's up here on WA that are both very well qualified to work on Diamond tables, one being Gordon is qualified to recalibrate Diamond rails as well.

With all due respect to the skills of Gordon, I think Katie would be happier in the long run with Rich's show to take care of her new tables.
