Earl is a disgrace!

Knew it was only a matter of time before all the earl haters crawled out. The team played like crap the first few days except earl and his commentary is mostly true. The euro's have easy racks on the dry breaks from the americans and they have lucked in a few when they needed too. When did men become such girls, earl sounds like most league players including myself, we talk shit about each other shooting all the time.

So when does your league team represent the USA on live international television? I'll check it out to see if its more or less embarrassing than the Earl show.

World-Standardized Rules, Rule 6.16 Unsportsmanlike Conduct:
"Unsportsmanlike conduct is any intentional behavior that brings disrepute to the sport or which disrupts or changes the game to the extent that it cannot be played fairly. It includes:
(a) distracting the opponent;"

Is the Mosconi Cup played by World Standardized Rules? If so, why isn't the above rule enforced? It's pretty clear that Earl's intention is to distract his opponents. There is another section in the rule book that states, "The rules and regulations give the referee and other officials considerable latitude in penalizing unsportsmanlike conduct." How come the referees and officials never exercise that latitude when it comes to Earl?

I say it isn't Earl who is the disgrace here. With Earl, you always know what you're going to get. I believe the initial problem lies with the system and the people who are responsible for placing Earl on the team. The second problem lies with the officials who fail to enforce the rules. If either of those two responsibilities were handled properly, Earl wouldn't be a problem for anyone except himself.

Roger

Yep - you can't blame a scorpion for its sting.

Crying don't win matches

Wow, Earl lost. Well if crying won you a match he would be undefeated at MC. :ignore:

So i'm supposed to be offended by what some international twats think about pool players in the USA. Cmon man there is probably twice as many people internationially that are watching this year because of Earl. Maybe next year we can get a whole team of panty wearing men because they will be better representatives of what the USA has become.

I dont care what you think.

Judging by the fact your bar for judging a professionals conduct on the largest stage in the world is how you and your buddies act down at Stinky Joe's Tavern I am not putting a whole lot of faith in your judgement.

Just to spread the love a little....

Earl is the worst offender of course this year but Rodney constantly dropping F bombs personally tilted me. How many times did the commentators apologize for language from Rodney and Dennis? How many times did they have to do it for the Euro's?

One of the oldest lines in sports is "Act like you have been there before."

Everyone but Shane and Johnny have shown their ass repeatedly this week.

"You must spread some reputation around before giving it to JCIN again." tap tap tap

Yes, Earl went on tilt again. As was expected. My question is, where were the captains to talk to him and get him to at least try and keep it under some semblance of control? Why just throw him out there with no safety net at all when you know he is likely to fall? At least make some attempt to help him through his demons. This is supposed to be a team event, not individual matches.

Jerry just apologized for another Rodney F bomb.

This isnt a stream.

Maybe one day some in this game will figure out what the Euro's have: If you want people to treat you as a professional you need to act like one.

You nailed it Justin.

I was hoping for a US win and at this point I am having a hard time watching. Not because we are loosing but because of the behavior of the US "pros"

Europe has a team of highly talented and highly professional players. So far they out broke us, they out shot us and they out scored us... I can get over that. Watching our "pros" behave the way they have is hard to fade.

Amazing that high quality companies aren't rushing in to associate themselves with our guys and throw money in to the game. Go figure.

I bet you are the same people that dont understand why pool is going down and probably will never get any better.

I do..because idiots like you think that pool should be guys in suits in a dark room quietly playing..no one who isn't a hard core pool lover wants to see that.. Times have changed. People want brash personalities that our worn on a players sleeve. Thats the time we live in like it or not...

The Americans deserve to be kicked out of the MC... for their play, and their attitudes. Bring on the Pinoys to play the Euros so we can watch some true professionals play the game the way it is supposed to be played. (apologies to JA and SVB)

Really I'm the idiot because I expect our professional players to act like professionals? Showing class and respect is not too much to ask of someone who is getting paid to play win or lose. Shane and Johnny are the only 2 that showed pure class the entire event for the American team. It is hard to debate with someone who thinks ignorance is cool so no need for me to respond to you again.

Yea because all the successful sports have tons of earls

Earl & Obama

When it comes down to International news both of these guys get little respect:D

Ranting about Earl will accomplish zero, as it is his, aka "Earl's" persona aka personality, I do not see him changing, as weather he is a good guy, or bad guy it has zero effect on his income.

Also if you ask most people in Pool Rooms Pool Bars, or Sport Bars playing Pool to name the people who made up this years Mosconi Cup team, they for the most part don't know what a Mosconi cup is or who was on the team with Earl.

Until Professional Pool Players are held to the same standard of conduct, dress, grooming, etc., as say a Pro Golfer on the PGA Tour nothing will change.

But as we all know Pro Pool Players make no where the money a Pro golfer makes, with prize money, endorsement money, licensing fees from using their name on lines of clothing etc. Like say Tiger Woods gets from NIKE.

JMHO.

Wimpy Lassiter was a laid back and polite player. He also was quoted as loudly announcing after losing a match, "All of mankind, and I got beat by an amoeba".
There should be emotion. Our team should be playing like they don't have the cash to cover their bet. Earl stands out because he still has the snarky hustler in him, and he doesn't care/realize he is on a different stage. None this means that I love the guy, or that he does't bother me, but he is never boring.
