Deuel "Excited" About IBSF World Snooker Experience

So what's the story here? I didn't watch this. Did Corey do very poorly for someone who's been playing snooker, probably part time, for two years or less?

no1 really reported how he did but anything that put him above the middle of the pack in this event would be a good result for corey, i would be curious whether or not he ran any centuries or anything close to it? i'm sure the better players in this event had plenty

OK. I think I'm starting to get what your problem is. I posted about four or five comments in a row in the other thread and you got jealous because you thought I might get more attention than you. Is that what it is?

I'm not claiming to be a child psychologist by any means but I'm just curious.

You shouldn't claim to be anything by any means.

Get attention..:rotflmao1: child psychologist..:rotflmao1:
Stop...your killing me.

IBSF Snooker Championships

The tourney is still going strong!

For some reason, odd number of players or something, the players who just squeaked through to the knockout stage had an extra game. Thus, Vaitzman had a extra, first knockout match. Vaitzman lost in a close one, 4-3.

Although Lee Walker of Wales is very strong, it appeared that the strongest player out of Corey's group P was 16 year old Zhao Xintong of China. As this is written he is playing George Louka of Cyprus - Zhao seems to have his hands full.

Walker advanced easily to the final 32 winning 4-0 over 17 year old Joseph McLaren of Scotland. However, Walker now faces a formidable challenge in the person of 34 year old Matthew Bolton of Australia.

The story I am telling is one of posting strong words from a position of extreme weakness.

I didn't watch Corey play snooker, not really interested in these lower skill matches (I'd rather watch the real snooker pros). I do hope that his eyes were opened and that he takes on the game, it would be excellent for the nearly non-existent game of snooker in the USA.

Lee Walker

Lee Walker handily defeated Matthew Bolton of Australia 5 frames to 1, Bolton had looked to be a strong challenger to Walker but not so. I would hazard a prediction that Walker will win the tournament. He's in the last 16 now and next up is Yuttapop Pakpoj of Thailand.

What a fantastic international field this tournament has!

16-year old Zhao likewise advanced to the round of 16 with a 5-3 win over Soheil Vahedi of Iran.

Out of the last 16 there is one player from the Isle of Man, one from Wales (Walker), two from Ireland, one from Scotland, two from England, two from India, one from Pakistan, one from Israel, one from Poland, one from Thailand, one from the UAE, and two from China.

I don't see Corey's name on the list. Were there more than 84 players in attendance?

Edit: Nevermind, I found the information.

I didn't see his name? Don't tell me the list only started with 30+ breakers, and that Corey didn't manage even one, but the 8 year old in his group did? :D

Where IS Justin? Has that ether had him again? It's a bugger, that is. ;)

Zhao

Mohamed Shehab (UAE) handily defeated 17 year old Darryl Hill of the Isle of Man to advance to the final 8.
Lee Walker of Wales advanced to the final 8 also, and will play Shehab next.

China has two very strong players still in it, 15 year old Zhou Yuelong and 16 year old Zhao Xintong. Zhou Yuelong was the runner-up in the U-21 held July, 2013 in Beijing.

David Hogan, age 25 from Ireland, faces Zhou next.

Currently the player list shows 100+ players, with Corey having a competition break of 68 and practice break of 128. I'm not sure why the other list is abbreviated, perhaps the player list shows overall career highs? I don't know.

I checked a couple of the players, comparing the high breaks shown on the player list vs. the high breaks shown on the break list -- and they were different. So the breaks on the player list may well be career highs, with that list prepared before the event started.

That does not tell us his highest break in this competition

Right. I guess that means he did not have a break as high as 50 in this event. (I imagine the "31" for the last player on the +50 break list (Boiko) is a typo.)

It would seem that CD did not make a 30 + break

A bit like our local leagues where only 30+ breaks are reported

you must understand that a century break in a competition is a fantastic achievement

I would think with CD's experience a couple of 50s would be good

Don't get me wrong the man is a cueist and with more years of practice will no doubt be hitting tons.

The 8 year old CD beat got a thirty break - absolutely fantastic for the lad.

I wonder how long it will be before that three year old chinese kid is playing in this? His cue action and timing is amazing. I'd back him against virtually all the keyboard warriors on here, even today.

just reading an article in snooker scene

Jason Ferguson visited two Chinese schools recently. one with 1800 pupils
has 18 full size tables; a junior school with 900 children has 5 four foot tables.

The game has financial support from the goverment

I wish i had 18 tables when i was at school!
