Billiard University (BU) playing-ability-exam scores and ratings

Frankly, I'm still in shock to learn Dr Dave is an instructor!
I'm glad you were pleasantly surprised to learn something new today. :grin-square:

I don't advertise, because I have a full-time "day job" that keeps me fairly busy during most of the year, but I've been giving private lessons and teaching pool courses for many years. When you are ready to sign up, all of the info you need is here:

Dr. Dave's Pool School
Billiard University (BU) Summer School Boot Camp

I hope to see you soon (both in video and for lessons). ;)

Regards,
Dave

The likelihood of doing either is very, very low.

So you knew all the usernames, surnames and who was an instructor and who wasn't from the list of people that have done the test, did you? And you could identify them in 30 secs, yeah?

Frankly, I'm still in shock to learn Dr Dave is an instructor!

I knew three or four off the top of my head, but if I was as concerned about it as you make yourself out to be, I would have clicked on the BU website to see the list, which would have taken, yes, 30 seconds.

Except on this phone, sigh.

Yeah, 'course it would.

Have you gone to the website? The list of BU instructors is right there, second tab from the right.

Likely less time than it took you to post in this thread and the other one about BU at the same time, not even accounting for whatever NPR threads you were "contributing" too as well.....

I mean, c'mon. I get what you are doing here in general terms, but you surely can take it when proven mistaken.

What on earth are you lot dribbling on about? If someone else - ANYONE else - asked who the six instructors were, you lot would be falling over yourselves to help them. But I'M branded lazy for not knowing.

How the hell am I supposed to know who is a US instructor and who isn't? And who uses what username? Or Neil's surname?

Do you really think I take much notice of how you lot teach the game? Absolutely laughable.

Project much?

You commented about which of "the board" (if I remember correctly) had taken the exams, insinuating that they hadn't.

Dave points out that many had, and that you could have seen that for yourself.

I'm reinforcing that. There are no user names necessary, the I.structors who contributed at BU are listed, with photos, on their website. A sharp guy like you would be able to look at those names and recognize them on Dave's list.

That's all this is about. You started it. Simple.

If you didnt care about this method of instruction, why do you keep posting about it?

You must be looking in the wrong place. The full names of the BU instructors are clearly listed on both on the complete list of BU instructors page and on the complete list of official BU graduates page. If you click on each link, it will be clear which people are on both lists.

Again, the 6 people currently on both lists are:

Ekkhard "Ekkes" Schneider-Lombard
Dr. Dave Alciatore
Gerald Williams
Tom Simpson
Neil Dryfhout
Randy Russell

Dave

You tube let me upload the 5 minute clip (376 MB source) - but only let me upload a SD version of it - 27MB apparently !! ?? sweet !

edit: Seems the you tube limit is somewhere between 5 minutes & 20 minutes for i-phone video clips...

15 minutes is the you tube upload limit for me for front camera recording - sharing direct to you tube via i-phone camera roll. (it didnt tell me the upload file size this time though - argh - annoying - would have been nice to know)

Cheers.

There's a way around that 15 min thing by altering the settings on youtube, but I'm not sure if that helps with cameras.

You should be able to transfer the file from your phone to your computer, then upload it to youtube from there. It's easy with a bit of playing about.

When you log into your Youtube account on a computer, you should see an “Increase your limit” link on the Video Upload page. If you click on this link and enter additional information, you should be able to upload videos longer than 15 minutes. Although, like "Pathetic Shark," I'm not sure if this works for phone uploads or not (although, I would be surprised if it did not). Please let us know if you learn more.

Thanks,
Dave

Ooh Interesting - good to know ! Thanx.

I tried xferring a 20 minute clip to my PC (500 MB file ?) - it spat the dummy / wouldn't finish the xfer - then again the PC I tried this on is a few years old - maybe the PC just wasn't up to it ?

Cheers.

I don't think its a YouTube limit. On my account I can upload to YouTube from my Mac videos over an hour with no problem.

On my iPhone, logged into the same YouTube account, I can't upload more than a few minutes.

All these issues really highlight how much of a learning curve is involved with video. All aspects of it. It's not easy.

yeah seems like maybe its a *sharing* from i-phone limit ? (MB limit ? or clip length limit ?)

I have now got the movie pro app - will play around with that a bit & should be able to record lengthy video files on the phone while keeping the file size to something manageable. (resolution & frame rate control)

Cheers.

Please let us know if and when you get this figured out. It would be helpful to know if there is an easy and straightforward way for people to post exam videos on Youtube from their smartphone.

This has been on my "list" to check out for a while also, but it keeps getting bumped by higher priority stuff.

If anybody else has experience and advice on this topic, please share it.

Catch you later,
Dave
