Has anyone just used the buffing bonnet that comes with the buffer? Won't adding a dimmer switch cut down on vibration with adjusting to lower speeds. Threw one together the other day and it does a good job on the balls but very noisy. The one I threw away was better than this one. Thanks. Johnnyt

I bought one of the $29 Ryobi buffers and a $3 Home Depot bucket. I hot glued some scrap carpet around the top 8" or so of the bucket and it works great with the buffing pad that came with it. I don't think it's all that noisy

OK thank you. I thought I saw one was built with the Ryobi and the guy put on a dimmer switch to control the speed. Johnnyt

JohnnyT, buy one here from Woody of AZ for about $125. He builds his with a wood frame so it really cuts down the noise and vibration. Looks nice as well.

I tried building one myself with a Ryobi and plastic bucket. Lucky I didn't kill somebody when I turned it on. LOL

This. I made of these, and they work fantastic. I also cut up some round foam pipe insulation and attached around the bottom ring of the bucket. It reduces the noise by about 90%.

Thank you very much and I will call it "The Miller". Johnnyt

Dividers are a must have, the ball can not contact each other while cleaning or polishing in a automatic machine.
Don't know how everyone here has not seen the towel and slot dividers....

Enjoy'

Any place that sells food and supplies for large farm animals .

If you are looking for a 5 gallon bucket, you can go to ANY fast food place or restaurant in general and ask them if they have any PICKLE buckets. You have a 50/50 of getting one for free.

I used to work in a place in Fulton,Ky that makes buckets of all kinds, but they literally invented the buckets that bulk pickles come in. If it says Letica on the bottom,it came from there. Tommy D.

I like the idea except for using scotch-brite non scratching scour pads. They must be more abrasive to the balls than carpet. I don't know this for sure, but I would hate to be removing plastic from the expensive ball set and not realize it until it was too late. Can someone give a little more info on these pads?

I've been contemplating building one also. Leaning towards a steam powered design, so it should be nice and quiet!
