Case Of The Year ~ VOTE HERE!!!

Justin you can disqualify my case. Ive no idea who casted all the votes. This competition means nothing to me and in fact its a just for fun poll. Didnt know my case would make so much problems in a voting competition. Have a nice day!

I'm not going to point fingers at anyone, as this could have been done by anyone, for several reasons that I can think of.

Timigator Case will be DQ'd per Timothy's request, and concern from the electorate.

Jamie, can you please remove Timigator from the options.

I'm not at all surprised by the votes on Timothy's case. I'm pretty sure it's not orchestrated by him but by someone else.... Had a faint feeling this would happen for this year's COTY.

Interesting that we've never had this problem before, wonder what's changed.

To add, I think the best way to vote is still the traditional method of manual thread posting. Then organizer of this contest will have the tough job of collating the information from the said thread.

A simple rule to apply would be to only allow or count votes casted by AZB members and who has post of 100 and above to prevent foul play. Since it's all done in open forum, it'll be pretty easy to identify any rigged results.

It's also sad that we have let Jamie down on using Survey Monkey. He's kind enough to use his own money for this purpose yet we have people who resorts to cheap tricks just to win. Then again there's all kinds of people huh.

I am pretty sure who that someone is, I am pointing my fingers but won't name that person, people in the knows know who that person is. I already knew this will happen once the case of the year thread started.

@ Jamie, sorry this had to happen on something fun like this, some people just feels if he/she win COTY will get more fame from it. Too many dishonesty going on.

everybody knows who this guy is,
He will NEVER win

I'm going to voice my opinion, and it will probably be unpopular. These "contests" are nothing more than nut hugger, ass kisser threads. You can't compare these cases objectively, too many differences and purposes. Not to mention, owners and makers nominating their own cases make it kinda ridiculous. It's kinda like putting your own baby in a prettiest kid contest expecting if to win. Objectivity goes out the window.
That said judging cases such as Eastwoods works against JBs rugged series only goes to prove the nut hugger connection. You can't compare artistic leather work to durable utilitarian nylon cases. Difference are obvious.
The little voting debacle just highlights the flaws with these threads.

Guys, lets not point fingers at anyone because it may not be who you think it is unless anyone had evidence/proof so let the voting continue since I've DQ'ed my own case.

I totally but respectfully disagree. I was so torn between a few cases (A JB, a King and a melton) and like you said, how could you compare. Then it dawned on me, what I really should vote for was the rugged. The point is, that case has had the biggest impact on the case world in 2013. While the fanciest case tends to win votes, it isn't the "fanciest" or most elaborate case contest so I think in the absence of a clear winner or belief that something has more merit (for one reason or another) it might be hard to compare.

BINGO.

Don't worry, I wasn't pointing my finger at you. You the innocent one that got caught up in this kind of B.S.
The person I'm pointing my finger at he/she knows I'm talking about him/her. Please don't DQ'ed your case from something fun.

I know who you're pointing your fingers at. And I know for sure it's definitely not him/her.

Unless you can bring in some evidence that he/she is the one casting the votes. Otherwise, stop pointing fingers.

my two cents..

I started this thread to have fun, and celebrate our many talented people here at AZB. I wanted Jamie to set up the survey so that my bias toward Volturi wouldn't be called into question.

JB said earlier he had similar problem last year. One link to Facebook, from a person who wasn't totally aware of the spirit of this little competition. It was FULLY, COMPLETELY AN HONEST MISTAKE ON THAT PERSONS PART. As such Timothy's case was withdrawn, and no harm was done.

It saddens me that so many would think of this competition as something more than it is suppose to be. A fun, gathering of the coolest cases from the year. Lets drop it, and try to keep this thread positive, which is what it's meant to be.

FTR, there truly is NO way to compare these works of art in an online picture contest. I'm well aware of this. An in person comparison, from some experts, and/or industry members would be the only way to truly measure. That's not what this is, this is AZB community celebrating some fantastic work, Nothing more or less.

I offered a solution above, and no one seemed to go for that. I can still make a public poll, or someone else can feel free to do so if they think I cannot get by my own personal preference.

PLEASE KEEP IT POSITIVE GUYS. THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE FUN!!!

FTR - I honestly thought that Ruggeds would run away with it...

Oh my apologies then. When the voting starts, I did shared the link of the poll. But yeah, I did posted it on Facebook. Once I realized it was an AZ contest, I removed the post immediately. Anyways, I've opted myself out of the competition, so it wouldn't affect any other contestants. So stop pointing fingers, the votes most prolly comes from my facebook friends.

This does sound like a good way to do it. It could hurt a few people from getting some legitimate votes, but it would also stop people from setting up accounts just to vote.

Agreed because right now if I want it to happen the JB Cases Ultimate Rugged will be case of the year. :-)

They really are that popular in China.

Here's what I'm proposing. You can only have a poll on AZB with 25 options. These cases will go into an open poll through AZB. The ones below the line will be separated, and can be added to a second poll if I see enough demand for it.

Mat Case ~ Ribbon of Life
Whitten ~ The Tux Whitten
Rusty Melton ~ CueAddicts Case
Rusty Melton ~ Cross Envelope Case
Phil Eastwood ~ All Hallows Case
Phil Eastwood ~ New York, New York case
Phil Eastwood ~ American Muscle
Armor ~ Hiyakkyi Series No.1
Armor ~ 3D Tooled Case
Armor ~ Buddha, Tiger and Dragon
King ~ Case 1 (dual pocket)
King ~ Envelope case with fur patch, and extra pouch.
King ~ Fully Tooled, JB Interior, Dual Pocket
Volturi ~ The Pearl Case
Volturi ~ The Maestro
Volturi ~ Timigator
Volturi ~ Cleiton "12" Rocha
Volturi ~ The Phantom 4
Volturi ~ The Samurai King
JB Cases ~ Rugged Cases. The entire series, as a case design.
JB Casses ~ Thread of Life
JB Cases ~ Heino
JB Cases ~ Breakin 8
JB Cases ~ Spirit
JB Cases ~ Straight Shootin Jesse

Below this line are cases that I'm going to leave off the poll. I tried to remove one case from each nominee, as long as it didn't have a vote on the other poll yet. If this is satisfactory to all participants, and voters, I will make another thread on AZB as an open poll.
-------------------------Below will be left out for now.------------------------

Volturi ~ The "JH" Case
Volture ~ Flur De Lis case
JB Cases ~ Faux Elephant Bazooka
JB Cases ~ SouthWest Love
King ~ Case 2 (big single pocket)
Armor ~ Kenny Koo Cues (The Flyingsnail)

this offer is on the table. If you I see enough posts to do it this way, I will gladly make that thread and we can go that route. As it sits right now, it seems that the votes are with in reason as far as % goes.

Jamie, does this voting look legit? I know this has to be a bit of a pain for you, but I would love to put this thing to bed.

I know it's more important to some here than others. I just want to have fun. The coolest part of this little competition, at least to me anyway, is that we get to have all the coolest cases linked together in one thread.

At this point the I believe the voting has run its course. I have set the voting to end tomorrow at midnight pacific time. It is close at the top.

As many of us have said, these year in polls are for the fun and enjoyment of seeing new, innovative, and beautiful works of art and craftsmanship. It is nothing more, and nothing less.

I hope you all enjoyed the cases... I know I did!
