I know there has been a thread or two about the best rooms in the U.S. However, when people post their "best" rooms they are inevitably placing different values on the quality or quantity of action in a room, the menu, tournaments or lack thereof, etc.

I would like to know what rooms are the best if you were to consider only a room's equipment.

I have limited experience in rooms across the country, but I can't imagine places keep better equipment than Shooters in Olathe, KS and Amsterdam Billiards in NYC.

What places have top notch equipment that I am missing?

Big Dog Billiards, Des Moines IA. They might not have the good tournaments other places like Olathe have yet, but the equipment is much better than Olathe. They have 8 nine foot Diamonds, 12 Diamond boxes, and around 12 Valley boxes.

I hear Beloit and Fargo have good equipment too.

Slate in ny has better equipment than amsterdam. All diamonds and better maintained!

Gary's Victor Billiards in Victorville California has great equipment!! A diamond from the Mosconi Cup in 2010. He has Gold Crown 5's that play perfect!! Rare that you find tables that are that well taken care of. Gary Henry really takes care of his tables and his patrons for that matter!!

Best Billiards in Vegas is awfully nice!

Best Billiards has great equipment. Cloth is always in very good condition, two of the 9' blue label Diamonds are currently covered with new simonis 860 as of a few weeks ago.

There are no ex-tournament tables in here. Also two 7' Diamonds that appear as brand new.

There's a heated 10' in a private room, man does this table roll great! You can find me in there quite often. :D

Embassy Billiards in San Gabriel. Half a dozen immaculate gold crowns and 10 or so equally immaculate 12 foot snooker tables. Not to mention the banger tables in the back of the room.

Hard times billiards in Sacramento has 41 Gold Crown III's, two valley barboxes, arcade games, and great food. I think they're one of the best I've ever been to. Second would be the breakroom in Montgomery Alabama, 20 something diamond barboxes, 4 diamond 9 footers, and great drinks.

Felt in Englewood Colorado has some very nice Diamonds
Hanks in Wheatridge Colorado has the best old time pool room atmosphere and fair GCs.

QFT. They also just put new felt on about a month or so ago and tightened the pockets on all the tables. So if you want well maintained, tight tables, Hard Times in Sacramento would be a good choice.

Classic Billiards - Portland Oregon

A great room with great equipment. Lots of 9' Gold Crowns, an oversize 8' Gold Crown, a couple 7' Diamonds, a 3-C Billiard table and a 6 X 12 Snooker table which is used primarily for playing Golf.

I think I might add Jimmy's Pro Billiards in Minneapolis. That was really nice room.

Yeah, you must not have been there in the last several years. I like Jimmy, but his room has no place being mentioned amongst the best in the country. In fact, his room isn't even the best in his own neighborhood. Sorry if this seems harsh, but its one of the worst rooms I've ever personally stepped into.

I think I am used to rooms that are pretty bad. When I was there in 2012ish, all the tables had tournament blue, all the balls (that I saw) were super arimiths, there was a bunch of diamond tables (although some were a little older), and Jimmy himself made me a killer cheeseburger. I thought the place was great. It has been awhile since I have been there.

Fargo Billiards. You have to choose between Diamonds or Gabriels, both in 7' and 9'. Or the 12' snooker table. Can't beat those choices.

At Hard Times, is the equipment on the left side of the room different to that on the right? I was there last week and played on a few 9ft tables on the left and was not impressed by the equipment at all. The balls had chips in them, the racks were cheapo plastic, each table had several roll-off spots and the pockets and cloth were shabby.

Nicest Pool Rooms

The Ball Room in Portage, WI is relatively new. It is in the old school downtown section of town, but when you walk in the interior of the building has been totally renovated. It really is a beautiful place with all new Diamond tables and some pretty damn good food, too. To top it off the ownership and staff are both great and support the local community. Highly recommended if you are in the area, it's about 40 mins outside of Madison, WI.
