Yeah, I assume it differs in various areas. Ours is 11, which I'm fine with.
No objection to your thinking OP... the cost of everything rises and a buck or two won't kill anyone.
Trob, you can't keep talking down to APA players and acting like they're the biggest suckers
in the world, when you yourself play in it.
And none of this "I just do it cuz my girlfriend does". Don't be lame.
For 11 dollars I'm playing a minimum of 8 racks of pool and that's if I run out the set,
which is never happening. That's cheaper than barbox or hourly rates.
and I get to hang out with a half dozen friends and practice for free.
Unless $11 is a lot of money to you, I don't understand why
anyone would act like that fee is out of line.
If your league is stuck on 1970's prices that's great for you,
but 11 dollars is completely fair for several hours of pool.
It's my wife ... Not my girlfriend. And I'll keep putting you down because you are suckers . . Lol 3 weeks left and I'm out. My wife has had enough of our operators also. Btw if you would have read my whole post you would have seen that I conceded you can't compare bca fees in my area to Apa because there not trying to make a living at it or not did they pay to have a franchise like the Apa.Trob, you can't keep talking down to APA players and acting like they're the biggest suckers

$11 hahahah to play apa.. and then people like you actually think you won something when you go to vegas for them. Apa players remind me of the people at a casino who celebrate when they pop a machine for $500 bucks but there still down $1000. I'm going to vegas this year for bca and The league I'm in is paying my fees to get in the tournament and the air fair and hotel are going to cost me like $350 combined...and I'm flying from pa! People here are complaining because they have to pay $7 which is far more then any other league and are now no longer giving patches but you have to buy them for a dollar. Which I don't really blame them...Seriously if you need to collect 90 9 on the snap patches because it some how makes you feel special then you can pay for them.
editing to add it's not really fair on my part to compare apa to bca fee in our area. Our bca and acs league operators make no money. They run the league for the love of the game and put every dime back into the league in the form paying for peoples vegas fees or the end of the year tournament and banquet. They're not paying franchise fee and trying to make a living at it.
you are comparing apples to oranges when you compare apa and bcapl.
apa ..you have to earn a spot at the nationals. once you earn that spot everything is paid for.
bcapl... any one can go to nationals... just pay your own way.
guess it would not really be fair to compare apa and bcapl in my area either.
at the end of the season the bcapl lo oddly did not have the money to send a team to nationals. the league folded.
apa. our lo does not charge for patches. he has a contest out right now where in lieu of recieving a patch you can fill out a coupon. he will hold a drawing and the winning coupon holder will receive an all expenses paid trip to the singles nationals in vegas.
last year our lo sent 2- 8 ball teams, 2- 9 ball teams , 4 scotch doubles teams , 2 masters teams , 2 single master players, 8 singles players and a ladies team all to the nationals.
oh yea... the ladies division only had 4 teams in it. i know that division did not generate enough income for a team to go to vegas. wonder where the money came from for that team.? oh yea out of the lo's pocket.
people just need to quit painting any league with a broad stroke. for every horror story some one on here gives about a certain league some one else can give a good story. that encompasses all leagues.
You have a good operator. We for many reason do not.
I don't care about winning a spot. I just want to go compete against teams from around the country straight up to see how my game can hold up and I'm fine paying my way. If you tell me it's a goal to win a trip to Vegas For personal satisfaction I'm cool with that. Just don't act like your getting a free trip while I'm paying for it. Unfortunately for the Apa I can do basic math and Unless your playing one day a week and going EVERY year. Your paying for that trip many times over.
i agree with you......but would like to add this note. no trip to any nationals in any league is free.
I could see going to 10 per player. 5 man team =50 a week.
How many teams? How many weeks season?
