WD700 vs OB Classic?

I'd buy OB. Tough to beat their product, and they are USA made, and they contribute to this forum, and they are a pleasure to work with, and I could keep going.
OB Cues, do a lot for pool, and for this forum. That's where I would spend my money.

Yea I love my ob 120 with classic that's wht I use now as main player I just got offred a deal on a mezz with the wd700 was jw what everyone thought of them
Mezz makes awesome stuff. there's no questioning that. If your happy with your setup now, and playing well with it, I wouldn't change.
Think of your cue like golf clubs. Sure next year's models might be a LITTLE better, but you will have to adjust your game for how those clubs play. Same thing with different cues. If you dedicated to the adjustment for your new gear, go for it.
WD700 i can't speak for. Never played one. I'm not a big fan of laminated shafts in general to be honest. That being said, if I was going to buy and LD shaft for my cue it would be nothing but OB. Those guys build an amazing product for the money.
I've never played a Mezz cue, or shaft in my life so i could be completely off basis.Out of all the LD shafts I played, I like the OB classic pro the best.
My opinion is entirely based upon the handful of interactions I've had with OB Cues. Whether on this site, through helping friends with warranty issues, and calling them up on the phone. From what I have read and seen about Mezz, they are top notch, but I wouldn't personally know.
Not a lot of help above, but you have a good cue now. I wouldn't go looking to change, just for the sake of change.

I've had an ob classic pro for 2 years now and just purchased another one as a backup. I don't ever see me switching shafts again. I would think the mezz is slightly better as far as deflection but the ob classic pro still offers lower deflection than a normal shaft but still maintains a firm hit with feedback.
so the ob is a nice compromise between the 2 ends of the spectrum. other LD shafts I've had are usually hollowed out at the end and hit very numb with no feed back. I didn't care for that.

Yea I've got a classic now and love it but got offred a great mezz cue and wd700 on it was just wanting too know if I'd be losing or gaining from it as far as the ld
The WD700 is not laminated, it is basically a solid maple shaft with the endmass reduced by drilling it out and filling it with foam and using a lighter ferrule. I play with one because I have found it to be the only LD shaft that feels like a normal maple shaft to me.
the mezz is no doubt going to have better LD qualities. but like the previous guy said, the mezz is drilled out and filled with foam to have a lighter endmass. the shaft will deflect more from the original path but the cue will not.
ob classic is still able to give you a moderate amount of LD but still plays closer to a normal shaft and it's still wood throughout. I don't like the idea of foam being in the end of the shaft.
you're just gonna have to break down and try out the mezz and then sell it on here if you don't like it.
if you do buy one or try it out, post your results on here. I'd love to hear about your experience with the mezz.

I have the OB classic and OB Classic Pro, along with the OB2.... I love their products. The OB Classic and Pro have a GREAT hit and very low deflection. I tried a Mezz for a few racks... wasn't thrilled.
I looked for a Mezz for a couple years and finally found one I liked. It came with the WD700 shaft which I played with for a few weeks and really liked. I then bought the Hybrid Pro II and like it even better. I have tried OB, Predator, Tiger and a few other LD shafts from custom cue makers and the Mezz shafts imo play closer to a regular shaft than the others.

Mezz bar none, I use a wd700 and it plays awesome. I've had OB and didn't like it...... Mezz' qaulity is the best when it comes to production cues and shafts. You can't go wrong with a mezz trust me. Mezz shafts also have the best feel since they're NOT laminated.
