If I am not mistaken this match had 9 break and runs and since Woodward loss the flip of the coin he lost the match. Incredible match. I wonder if this has ever happened before?

I stand corrected. Apparently they lagged for the break. Still a great match!

I haven't seen a coin flip yet. Are you sure they didn't lag for the first break?

Flip of the coin

Years back Nick Varner was playing Scott Kittoe in Chattanoga Tn. Scott wins 8-0 and Nicks dad asked him what happened Nick calmly says i dogged the flip.

best 8b match all time for me would be shane vs biado U.S open championship 2013 final.

I wish it could be uploaded or made for purchase.

I second that. I heard it was a great match but I did not see any of it. I wish it was available on TAR.

I think Darren's last 3-4 matches he played the best BB 8 ball I've ever seen. The guy was getting out on tables where you just didn't think it was possible. His run out percentage had to be crazy high.

I think all pro tournament matches should be win by 2 games. That way the person that breaks first does not have an unfair advantage.

I actually like this idea, much like badminton or volley-ball matches. This would be interesting but could extend match duration however, and create delays in tournaments.

I agree, but only if the break is decided by a coin flip.

If decided by lagging (as most pro events are), then I have to disagree. Winning by the first break by winning the lag is not an unfair advantage.

Not sure what the difference would make if it was a coin flip or lag. The person that breaks 1st still has the advantage. Look what happened in the Appleton vs. Skylar Woodward match. They both ran out everytime they came to the table. Appleton broke first and Sky ended up losing 7-6. Only reason Appleton won the match was because he broke first. To alleviate that advantage they should make it where all matches are win by 2.

I missed the Darren/Skyler match. :( But I did see the SVB/Skyler match and holy CRAP that was awesome. They each broke'n'ran from the 1st rack till the 10th rack! Unfortunately, Skyler couldn't keep up his soft break spreads as well as SVB.
