how are ya'll doing in league ?

Maine sounds awesome!

We have no poolroom in Ithaca. Both colleges have rec rooms with 9' tables. One team in our NAPA league plays out of the Ithaca College rec room (on Gold Crowns). Otherwise it's all 7' barboxes. The tables are not in great condition and when they get recovered/replaced, it only takes a few weeks for them to get wrecked again.
 
All 7' bar boxes here this session but last session there were two teams from a pool hall a town over so we got to play on "real" tables for a couple nights. The local leagues seem to get rearranged quite a bit around here

Leagues at my pool hall(16 -8ft', 2 7', 2 -9ft) is on 8ft. I work evenings/nights, so I really dont have time to join.

My main league night is on 9 footers, there is another 9 / 8 ball league I play in that has 1 of the 3 rooms they play in on 7 footers (not very well done Valleys with old dirty balls). I think I lost most of my matches on the 7 footers, can't shoot on those things with the larger cueball.

Well last week I posted about a pretty good come back match I had. Just wanted to add, this past weekend I took down the SL7 APA 8ball singles regionals. Will I see some of you guys in Vegas on May? :D

wish i was going but i just did not have my a game during our qualifiers. i just found out a guy who i beat a few weeks ago 15-5 in regular session a few weeks ago came in 1st at our singles regionals in nashville this weekend.

he played well when it counted. good luck to him also. he is in the s/l 6 bracket.

Nice job man, enjoy it! I might do it again. I went a few years back in singles as a 7 in 8 ball. I lost my first match to a guy who missed one ball in a tough match. I found out my next match wasn't for another 6 hours (which is meh lol imo), so I went to play cards and started drinking free vodka cranberries. Well after 6 hours of cards and drinking I got a phone call asking where I was as I was on last call for my match. Being drunk I asked how far away the tables were from where I was playing poker. It ended up being a little too far away for me to make it there in time so I kept playing poker (won $300 lol).

Cliffs
Guy misses one ball in first match, fk him
Matt drinks 6 hours vodka/cranberries
Matt makes more money in poker than he would have made trying to weed through the loser bracket

Today was colorful.

Went to a friends place with an 8 footer. Played a local guy (APA 5 speed) two sets 8ball race to 5. Won both sets 5-3. I had. Two break and runs (Go figure) and 4 runouts from his dry breaks. My break is finally improving!

Played my friends buddy (APA 5 speed) 10ball race to 7. I was up 5-0 before he quit and threatened to fight me. I decided to be the bigger man and leave after that.

i played my apa 8 ball travel league tonight. for the life of me i can;t figure out why i shoot so good one week and so bad the next lol..

played another 5 in a 4-4 race. i lost 4-3.

here is how his 4 wins happened.

i scratch on last ball giving him bih on 8.

i scratch on last ball giving him bih .on 8. .....AGAIN.:mad:

he misses 8 ball and leaves it hanging in side pocket. my last ball is froze hanging right beside it. cue ball is on other of 8 ball. cannot see my ball at all. i kick across side hitting my ball...only problem is i hit the left side of my ball instead of right side. cue ball caroms off my ball knocking in the 8.

last rack i missed 2 easy cuts on the 8 ball before he finally made the 8..

well tom is a new night. forget about last night.... right ?

start on a new team in another napa division. back to 4 nights a week. hope this old body can handle it.
 
I had an off night tonight...

1st game break and run to the 8...Bank the 8 cross side and miss it thin...8 gos opposite side...:mad:

2nd game dry break from opponent, play a couple of shots then play safe and a break out at the same time...safe leaks out and opponent runs out. <---- My fault for letting safe leak out --->:mad:

3rd game was a back and forth game for both of us...Missed another safe and left my opponent on the 8....My opponent gets confused as to what ball he's shooting and gets down to shoot my ball in the pocket...I stopped him and told him he's on the 8, he thanks me and shoots the 8 in the pocket (I just couldn't let him shoot the wrong ball)....:indecisive: My team was kind of bummed that I said something but understood why I did it...

4th game my opponent had control the whole game...beats me with safes and then makes the 8 and scratches....I guess a wins a win but damn I shot bad over all...:embarrassed2:

Hopefully I can pull it together....
 
All 7fters in the BCA league I play.. One local bar has 2 diamond boxes but we dont play there for 8ball. They have a 9ball team though.

Played last night and won 6 of 9.. should have won 1-2 but missed a crucial easier shot in one and then left a guy to shoot thinking he couldn't get out only to watch him get out LOL

Break was terrible and didnt break and run any out of 5 breaks.. won 4-5 on my break though.

I get out to a 3-0 lead against a SL4 (who used to be a SL5) and I get reasonable shape on the 8, only to donkey it...

There goes my 3-0 shut out.

Then I eff up the next game, again with the ability to get out, so he gets to the hill, and he gets a point.

Even then, I almost blow the last game, but manage to hang on and win.

Man, I wish I could find the killer instinct and close these matches out. This is clearly the reason I'm still a 5 and not a 6...

I love this game. And I hate how I play it sometimes...

Better to be a good five than a bad 6 as many or most (imo) 6s are. As a 7 a good five is harder to beat for me.

Without getting into much detail, he said I talk too much and something along the lines of hitting me in the face with a cue. I don't have time or care to bother with childish behavior (kicking and screaming when he's losing).
