Thinking of getting this Kikel. What is do you think It's spalted maple/bacote and has a Felllini wrap done when the cue was refinished awhile back.Uunplayed since.

it is busy but I like the wood combo. Kikel selects pretty woods and is careful about their orientation in the cue. always beautiful

Thanks for your thoughts. I like it but also thought that it is a bit busy.

From an appearance standpoint, it's a poor choice of wood combinations. Both of the woods are highly figured/grained so they end up fighting with each other. A highly figured wood should be matched with a plain wood so the highly figured wood stands out. The leather wraps just adds to the fight.

But the only thing that's really important is how it plays. Personally, I don't even notice how my cue (or anyone else's cue) looks. I guess I'm just more focused on the table.

I like it, it's almost the same wood combination as my Ned Morris although yours has more fancy figuring.

The wrap works nicely with the cue, although it may match it a bit TOO well.

Actually, I think the combination is interesting, but the wrap ruins it for me, it's too busy w/all the figuration of the woods.

Just my opinion.
It's a dog-pass.
The wrap is nasty.
Change the wrap to smooth leather or linen would help a lot.

I like how the two heavily figured woods are working together but that wrap really kills it for me. Put on a smooth black leather wrap and I think that cue would look great.
