Schon IV Vs OB Classic Vs Predator Z

Hi everyone. I'm in the market for a new shaft for my Schon 724 ltd. Not real sure what direction to go. I bought an ob1 and hate it. It hits way to soft and quiet. I want something that is more crisp. Was thinking of buying a Schon IV but I have never played with an ivory ferrule. I have also never hit with an ob classic or a z shaft. Just hoping to gather everyone's thoughts. Thanks for your time.

No offense, but you are trying to compare a traditional cue shaft to two low deflection shafts.

If you want something more traditional with a crisp hit, get a shaft from Steve Klapp.

I actually switched from a Z shaft to a Klapp maple shaft. Hits real nice.

If I were to go back to La low deflection shaft I'd get a Mezz 700

I will check out Klapp. Thanks.

Keep in mind that the OB equivalent to the z2 are the OB (classic) pro and the OB2. I love them both and would recommend the pro.

Don't get an ivory ferrule. They always crack. Just get a a hon shaft with an lbm ferrule

Poolplayer. You have the single greatest picture I have ever seen in a billiards forum. I hope Cliff sees it lmao. Thanks for the advice on the ferrule. I talked to Steve Klapp earlier he said the same thing.

I liked my Predator shaft but this year I got a jacoby hybrid edge. I like it better than the Predator. It has a solid feeling hit.

The Z2 does not have crisp hit like ur looking for if ur looking for that go with the classic or if u want the low deflection of the Z2 go with the ob pro then ull have best of both worlds. Also heard that the mezz cues are great too

I prefer Predator over OB.
Lately been using a 314 with a Kamui soft on a Schon and it's an awesome feeling.
Just amazing.

Not saying it will perform a miracle, but many people who found the OB-1 soft and quiet did prefer the feel after changing to a hard tip or a milk dud. While you continue your search for a new shaft, give it a try.

Schon + 314-2 + Kamui Soft = IMO the best combination

As you can read on my signature I exactly have the same combination (cue-shaft-tip) like 9Ballr and for me it's the right combination to play my best Pool.
I also have in my case a Schon IV Shaft which is also not bad to play with. But not comparable to a LD-Shaft.

I just started hitting with a p+ a couple weeks ago and like it. I had it turned down and it is still stiff as a board.
