Robinson value

Last value thread for today... I can't even remember what I purchased this cue for, but it was nifty at the time.. The ivory grain is very uniform in all of the points, etc..

Curious what this cue is worth.

It should be re-finished in so much as the metal rings are now "larger" than the wood. But other than that its in fantastic condition, and I think as far as robinsons go pretty stunning and I THINK its pretty unique.

Here is a few pictures of a Robinson I bought a bunch of years ago. It has 4 shafts and is in mint condition, mostly because it was so expensive I don't use it. It's got the best finish of any cue I own or have owned.

It's Black Forest Ebony with ivory within ivory and the ferrules are ivory as well.

I almost sold it a few years ago but couldn't pull the trigger.

Getting older and don't play any more so if anyone cares to make a sincere offer I might let it go.

The one pictured was originally mine. It played just great, but I am
playing with 60" cues now, and selling off many of my others.

As for resale price ... Sadly, a $5,000 Robinson actually brings only $2,000 in today's cue market.
Yours is worth somewhere between $1500 - $2000 (Retail) ... BUT, you still have to find the right buyer.

AND, make certain ALL of the White is REAL IVORY, as many makers are using Ivory Substitutes these days.

Your cue should bring around a $1000 if you can find a buyer. I was so surprised at how low they were selling for that I picked one up last year.

I picked up 2 in the last couple yrs , hopeing to make a extra buck . Neither brought what I expected . I think that joint turns people off . Looks like it has a joint protector on before you put the joint protector on . GL Jim

I actually though that inlay in the joint was a nice touch, but I don't like large white points like that myself.

The cue maker does have a clear design motif he uses based on the two pics in the thread which is nice.
