Here's my 314-2 shaft I used if I played in unfamiliar places.....I had the kids decorate it.
I just paired it with a plain looking quality butt, and no one ever bothered it![]()

Better to just bring a sneaky.
pick up a used and abused cheap cue, that has the same balance and weight, and put your shaft on it.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
Odds are the shafts are the majority of the magic. Have you tried them on other less expensive cues? Possibly you only need to have Tony make you a shaft that you can put on something cheaper, but similar in specs, with no ivory. The last thing you want is an expensive cue sitting in customs due to some ivory.
A funny story at one tournament. One player had a sneaky pete break cue, when he was racking the balls, someone took his cue. The player was looking for his break cue for 5 minutes in pool hall. When he find the cue, the guy who took it said he thought it was a house cue.
I've mentioned this in another thread...on two occassions I've had someone (once a girl) grab my Schon STL17 off my table when my back was turned and start playing with it. They honestly didn't realize that some people bring their own cue to play with and didn't think there was a difference between a $1400 cue with two elephants' worth of ivory in it and a house cue. The girl initially complained when I took it back, saying, "but I like the tip on that one better!" No S...![]()
You might want to spend more time with your kids
