What's up with the 'ask the pros' section?

George and Sarah's sections are empty, and the last post in Melissa's is from January.

Maybe it's time for azb to talk to some of the well known players and update this section. It would be very interesting to read a response from one of the top pros every now and then.

Why would any pro's want to be involved in the "ask the pro" section? It would take time and work, and for what reason? If the pool tournament scene were more active, you might get a couple of pros to be involved there as the "face time/publicity" might possibly benefit them slightly with potential sponsorships/gaining new fans etc. But as the professional pool scene sits right now, there just isn't any reason to, and the time/effort/aggravation are good reasons not to.

Don't shoot the messenger, it's just my opinion. If you were a pool pro in an era with no tour, few tournaments, and very limited amounts of people willing to be sponsors, would you do it? You might say yes but the truth is that it would be exceptionally unlikely. AzB not talking to the pros is not the issue.

Most are FaceBooking or on Twitter. Every pro that comes on here inevitably runs into haters and trolls that want to debate everything they say or advise. It gets old. Frankly, I'm surprised they last as long as they do.

Sarah gave it a good effort- a certain "southern gentleman" would mostly just sign in to give excuses why he hadn't been on and promising to be back full time real soon-Ahahahaha.

Knowing Melissa, I'm sure she put in a good effort but i had already soured on the whole pro forum and no longer went there.

MiscueBlues...George (Ginky) has a REALLY good reason why he hasn't posted in a LOOONG time. Sadly, he passed away. :frown:

Pros are not protected or respected here. Most are accessible on Facebook. But the main reason is more likely that the Ask the Pros section simply has no traffic. A forum subdivided is like a mall with an empty wing. With no traffic the pros have no incentive to keep up with it.

Main Forum....

Some people think all the pro players are in the Main Forum and now they want a beginner's section too.

Just what did you need to know? Lots of experts here.:D

This. Just ask one of them next time you see them, this is the answer they'll give you. I know, because I've asked.
