Alex Pagulayan going to UK to try pro snooker

This is a close one with neither player having any significant runs. It's 32-30 Jason with 35 points left.

Alex won that frame 3-2 Alex. Go Alex.

That frame appeared "scrappy" as well. Hard to say much without being able to see the frames being played.

In that frame it was 52-65 or something like that with 13 points (the black and pink I presume) left. What happens if the frame ends in a tie?

I'm by no means an expert on snooker so don't go thinking anything different.

Alex pulls one back! 3-2 behind now. Needs to start scoring more from his chances if he's gonna make it much further in this tournament though. And also to make things less stressful for his supporters...

If the frame ends with the scores tied the black ball is respotted, there's a coin toss and the winner chooses either to play from the D, or put their opponent in. Pot the black to win, foul on the black = loss of frame.

Does the advantage go to the person that gets the first shot or does the winner of the toss normally pass the first shot on?

The situation isn't really clear-cut, and different players play it different ways. A common shot is to cut the black roughly half-ball to leave black on the middle of the side cushion, and the white on the opposite side cushion. This sometimes leaves a double, but never really sells out an easy shot like you can by playing a more positive safety. Two-time World Champion Mark Williams tries to cut the black in the corner from the D. I'm not sure if he's ever been successful!
