Alternative for powder.....

Are you annoyed playing on a table with hand powder all over it? I have an alternative for baby powder and the powder blocks.

Its called Easy Slide. You find it in any bowling center and its supposed to be used on bottom of slide shoe to keep from sticking on approach and slide to foul line.

It comes in a little bag(like a rosin bag), and sometimes you don't even have to put it on your hands. Just rub the bag on the shaft. The stuff is a lot more slippery then baby powder.

Oh and FYI....don't buy the rosin by mistake, you will regret it!

Have you tried that spray stuff? It's called Slick (or silk) Hand or something like that. It's like a spray on chalk in a little pump bottle and it's invisible.

I have never really found an alternative for power. I am an old timer and like power. I carry it in a little recycled Visine bottle and just spritz tiny amount where I want it on my hand. None really gets on the table at all.

I keep a towel in my case to wipe off my cue, and I wash my hands periodically when I play.

Try the easy slide. You will like it a lot. And just a few dollars. It is a powder like substance.

I've been using this stuff for a year now. It works wonders for me. Almost like an invisible glove.

I think I know the stuff you are talking about. There was something similar when I painted cars at the body shop. Spayed it on your hands and paint wouldn't stick to you.

Love the Glove.
Keeps the shaft clean, and is easier to carry than powders or sprays or rosin bags.

I have heard nothing but amazing things about FingerSlides. Mine just shipped yesterday and should be here by the end of the week, I am pretty stoked to see how they do. Beats wearing the glove I have that makes my hands sweat even more.

If you're truly dedicated, just get botox for your hands. My friend has hyperhidrosis (somewhat uncontrollable sweating of hands and feet) and does this to prevent it.

Lasik for your eyes, botox for your hands, break your wrist for your stroke.

Power Grip

Has anyone tried Power Grip Liquid Hand chalk? It dries instantly, and is used by golfers, baseball players and other sports figures who require dry hands. It is made by a company called Mission.

I guess we're in the minority here but I too prefer a glove. My hands don't even sweat, I just thought they looked cool watching Jeanette Lee wear them growing up so I decided to get in on the action. Also, (and this might be mental) but from the time I started using one it seems like my shots have more control and deliberate aim.

I mostly play in a bar on the Texas coast that does not allow powder nearly always has high humidity. Most of the time I don't have a problem when I keep my hands and cue clean and dry but I had to first sand the factory finish off the shaft. A glove would be nice but who wants to fool around with one of those. Maybe if I played for serious money.

I used powder for years, but use a glove now in the hot weather here in FL. Powder doesn't have to get all over the table. Some people just use way too much of it. A little dab will do you. Just like chalking your cue over the table. There is enough chalk getting on the cloth from what comes off the balls W/O adding to it by chalking over the bed of the table. JT

Never a problem with sweating hands , after i bought my own cue i used a burnishing leather on the shaft , never used powder after that .

Thank you for all of your responses. I can't believe no one else has discovered the easy slide. You bowlers out there should have tried it before. If you like to use powder, try this stuff. It takes very little and is slipperier then baby powder. Give it a try.
