Alex Pagulayan going to UK to try pro snooker

Well it is... and speaking of stroke, here's some fat guy playing snookies:

That fat bloke is Stephen Lee - he had a monster cue action. Last heard of facing fraud charges relating to selling a cue aparently. Should have achieved a lot more with his ability but we will never know how many dives he took <belly flops surely - Ed>.

"..I normally wouldn't miss it in a month of Sundays your honour, but just as I was following through someone in the audience shone a tenner in my eye..."

Not quite. He's just been given a 12 year ban for match fixing plus a 40,000 pound fine.

Maybe you might see him playing pool as from what I read he is drowning gambling debt.

Been done before, anyone remember Quinten Hann?

Well, good for Chris Melling....he got his ticket.

So what now?

Does he have to further qualify for each event?

How many events are there and what's the cost to get to them?

Is there an entry fee for each event?

At what point in the events do players get paid?

And I understand that 8 players will get on tour through q-school. Do the bottom 8 players in the rank list drop off the tour then and have to try to requalify through Q-school?

"The former world number five snooker player Stephen Lee has been charged with fraud.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman confirmed the 39-year-old, who lives in Trowbridge, had been charged with fraud by false representation.

The charge is in relation to the sale of a snooker cue.

Mr Lee, who has been a professional for more than 20 years and has won five ranking titles, is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates' Court on 28 May."

Information on Q-school.

Snooker should be the template that pool follows. It seems to be incredibly well organized with lots of professional blogs dedicated to exploring every detail related to Snooker.

Seems that Q-school gets you on tour but if you don't get a card then you can enter qualifiers for the major events as well. So if Alex doesn't make it through Q-school then he still has opportunities.

Also, dropping out of the top 64 means you have to re-qualify by going to Q-school or getting another spot some way.

Pretty strict but ensures a very high standard.

What are the odds that I was reading this post on one screen and watching Van Boening VS Parica on another screen and Danny D and Jimmy W were just talking about Quinten Hann?

Alex said that his last game in the Brown match...he hooked the guy solid
six times....I knew that one-pocket experience was gonna pay off.

But Brown hit all six hooks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How the hell can he do that?....there aint no diamonds on a snooker table.

He has to go through qualifiers for 3 events I believe, including the world championships. All others are a flat draw. As he will start in near the bottom of the list, he will have to play someone in the top 64 for his first match of each event until he breaks into the top 64.

There are 11 ranking events (bigger money), 6 European tour events and 4 asian tour events. The European and Asian tour events are open to anyone to play in, however players not on the tour have to qualify.

There is an entry fee, I don't remember what it is but it varies between ranking events and the European and Asian tour events.

I would assume they get paid after the event. To the best of my knowledge, payment is never an issue.

I think all you need to do is hit a red?....not a red and a rail, so if it is early on in the match, there are more reds to hit.

4-0, Alex is off to the next round. Will either face Mark Owens, or Michael Tomlinson, both who made it to round 5 in Q1 like Alex.
