I made a mistake, and I'm owning up to it.

Back in February 2013, I sold a cue to tman561. He has since sold/traded that cue to KCRack'em, who in turn sold/traded the cue to warfdiesel. The problem here is, that I sold the cue as a regular playing cue, when it is in fact a jump/break. The cue in question is a 59" PFD with a Predator blank shaft. I sold the cue on behalf of a friend, who was aware it was a jump/break, but somehow that got lost in communication between the 2 of us, and I unknowingly sold the cue as a normal playing cue. Honestly, the possibility of it being a jump/break never even crossed my mind, especially with the Predator shaft. However, I did sell the cue with misrepresentation, be it unknowingly or not, and I am owning up to this mistake and trying to make it right.

I am doing this out in the public forum with the goal of transparency. We've all seen the nasty threads of deals gone bad that fill up with copy and pasted PM's, and it is my goal to avoid anything of that nature. I am making this post in the "Test Area" forum to keep viewers to a minimum (and thus minimize everyone interjecting their 2 cents, who have no business doing so). I am inviting all of the parties involved to give their opinion on this situation, but ultimately I feel that working this situation out to a mutual resolution will be between warfdiesel and myself, given that the cue is in his possession.

I have PM'ed all the parties involved a link to this thread, and will await their arrival and input. I hope that ultimately we can resolve this situation, and everyone will understand that "shit happens", as they say. I very easily could have played this off, not accepted any responsibility, and that would have been the end of it. But, I am an honest person, I made an honest mistake, and I will step up to the plate and take the blame for it.

This is what a "Stand Up" guy looks like!

Leland, just when I think my faith in humanity is about as low as it can go, someone like you pops up & elevates me to a renewed level! You are a shinning example of what integrity is, the 1 thing that no one can ever take from us! My hat is off to you Sir!
Sincerely,
Mark Trantanella/ aka tman561

I'm as amazed at this as I am about the cue. This is something completely unexpected. The world needs more stand up people like you my friend.

Ok, so as I understand it from your PM, the PFD has been refinished since I sold it, and you traded a cue valued at 850 for it. You then added another PFD shaft w/ivory ferrule to the cue. So overall, you're in the ballpark of about 1100 into the cue. I was going to offer to buy the cue back for what you paid, but that idea is a bit more complicated now. The maximum amount I can offer you in cash, is 650. I know that's far short of what you have into it. If I could swing the whole amount you're into it, I would, but I'm far from well-off.

The only other thing I can do is offer you a trade. This whole thing is my fault, so I am willing to offer my personal playing cue in trade. It is a 60" Bobby Hunter with 5 floating points of Ebony into a figured BEM forearm, linen wrap, Ebony buttsleeve, railroad stitches in all positions, and 2 shafts w/ivory ferrules. It is in pretty good condition, 1 noticeable ding in the buttsleeve, a few less noticeable dings in buttsleeve/forearm. It is a playing cue after all, and it has seen a lot of action. If you're interested in this, I can take spec measurements and pictures for you. Let me know.

I really don't know what else I can do, but I'm open to ideas.

I would never ask you to do that. I'm not in the cue for 1100. The other shaft was included*in the*trade. I'm in it for about 850 total with shipping and everything. Please text me at 606-875-8080 and we can talk. I don't expect you to do anything unreasonable.

I'll text you here in a minute, but I just wanted to say that that trade isn't really a huge deal to me. I loved the way the PFD played when I had it, and if I would have had the cash at the time, I would have bought it myself from my friend. So don't think that you're putting me out a great deal.

Also, for what it's worth, the cue isn't really a jump/break. I found out the person who had it made had it made as a playing cue. Apparently their home table was in a basement with a pesky support pillar, making a short cue necessary on some shots. I guess they got tired of using a crappy short stick. It was never meant to break or jump with. Kinda interesting.

This has all been worked out and taken care of, for anyone who cares. I'm sorry to everyone who was involved in this, and I thank you for your understanding.
