the other night at league as i was grabbing up the balls to return to the counter i saw a piece of chalk laying on the table.

i grabbed it to put with the balls and then noticed it was not the masters the room supplies.

it is a lil smaller than a cube of masters...almost the size of kamui.

i looked on the bottom of the cube and it has a warning....this product contains chemicals known to the state of california to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. wash hands after handling.

i have never seen that brand before or ever seen a warning on a cube of chalk before.

i knew it was not any of my team mates chalk and i caught some of the opposing players before they went out the door. it was not theirs and they knew of no one on the team that used it.

so i took it home. :grin-square: it is a lot harder than masters and more grittier. i swipe some across the tip of one of my cues at home and dust clouds formed from a lot of particles falling off the tip.

that tells me it can make a mess if you chalk around the table.it did cover the tip pretty good but i dont know how it clings as i have not hit any balls using it yet.

so now i have kamui, predator, masters, and mizerak chalk in my case. :grin-square:

"Mizerak" brand pool equipment is sold in general sporting goods stores like Sports Authority. I think it is all made in China. Some of it is OK. Evidently the chalk is not.

There's a whole line of budget minded billiard supplies being sold under the Mizerak and Minnesota Fats brand name, by a company called Escalade Sports. You can find them at Kmart, Walmart, target, etc

well that confirms Bob Jewett's post. and my immediate thought. that it's CRAP. hopefully the OP didn't injest any dust....

it's pretty bad, when pool has been branded down to the level of furniture. just because Kathy Ireland or Tommy Bahama or Martha Stewart's name is on something, doesn't mean it's quality. and the Buyers/Specifiers for these retailers don't know; don't care.

HAHAHA! Worst chalk ever.

Drywall is a better option.

Mizerak chalk comes in a set with a beginners cue... the kinda cue that has a screw on tip...

The chalk doesn't hold, really doesn't stop miscues, and is really only good for giving it to your opponent as a joke.

It seems a lot of things that are fine in other areas are known to be harmful in California. I'm staying the f^k away from that place!

OMG. Agreed, Other than Sportsman Chalk, it bites the bag. I've come to use Silver Cup, then Masters, and now Triangle.

Although I am certain that Masters is the better one, I have been getting more into Triangle for some reason or another.
