King Kong vs Rube at Bellflower

Anyone know who won the coin Sunday at Hard Times.
They played some sets on a BB.

I didn't stick around in the stream that Daniel Busch of POV POOL had running for coverage of the tournament there. Box was in rare form even though one pocket is his main expertise. Always love hearing Box comment.

Last I heard Kong took the money down for the first set and they were a few games into the second with Kong ahead by one or two. Kong got eliminated from the tournament and got into it with the kid for 500 a set.

Kong was actually shooting well in the tourney.

A friend said Kong was up one set for 500, then lost the second set for 1000. Could be wrong. Also, they got into a near physical fight over a foul that was "witnessed" by a railbird betting on KK. Apparently it wasn't a foul, and the rail has no business getting involved. All hearsay, honestly, so hopefully someone can clarify.

Kong won the 1st set - 15-13 for $500

Kong lost the 2nd set - for $500 (Don't know the score)

At the beginning of the 3rd set, all hell broke loose and the evening ended with Kong chasing Ruben around the pool hall calling him a cheat and a 'cooletto' which, to say the least is not as cool as it sounds.

The 3rd set was cancelled in the mayhem.

60% of the games were recorded. I will post some of it onto YouTube in a few weeks.

Didn't Reuben Bautista nearly beat Mika in the Nick Varner tournament?

Is Reuben considered the better player in comparison to King Kong, hence the bar table to equalize things?

Not too sure about this, but I would imagine there is some validity to it. I personally don't know of his game that well and I get conflicting arguments from various railbirds who say that he does and doesn't play better on 9 footers. Be that as imay, I heard he recently beat Ernesto Dominguez out of $2000 on a 9 footer. I tend to agree that Kong and his backers were hoping to shift Ruben's gears a little.
