Phenolic Ferule

I am going to change the ferule on my break cue to phenolic & I was wondering, if it is just a flat standard ferule rather than a tip/ferule combo could I put a white diamond break tip on the flat phenolic ferule?.

Not trying to be funny but if your asking these questions, then no this is not something you need to mess with. Take it to a repair person and have it done.
 
I live in Edinburgh in the UK & the cue repairers here all deal exclusively with snooker cues, so if I could I would much rather learn to do the job myself.
