ARAMITH BALLS: "That's how I roll!"

"3)... bubbles in the “competitors” balls as it is shown in the attached picture."

What "attached picture"? There wasn't one on that article.

-Sean

The yellowish picture at the top of the thread, shows bubbles in the ball.

I was hoping for a response from my post #16, http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=4760789&postcount=16 from either JB, or JoeyA ...Are the questions I posed too tough ?

So far..NO ONE has addressed this issue !...Pool balls, are pool balls...Good players will adjust...Poor players will NOT...What else is new ? ... Why have we drifted so far off topic ?...

SJD

Seems like your trying to stir things up as opposed to hoping for a response, the 'tone' I picked up based on your "your buddy" statement.

I've been wrong once or twice. So I'll bite:

I agree with your statement about talent. However, playing with consistent equipment helps keep your game consistent.

I doubt a $30 set of balls will play anything like a set of Aramith branded, Brunswick branded or Cyclop branded pool balls.

Joey, I'm not saying all products that come from China (or Asia) are poor quality, but ALL Chinese manufacturer's completely ignore ALL other countries patent rights, and will copy anything from Iphones to billiard balls. Their economy is geared to producing ANYTHING cheaper, due to their monstous, (and usually grossly underpaid) work force ! ..They have purchased a few BMW's, Caddie's, and Volvo's, and are now preparing to flood the market, with THEIR 'version' (copy), for thousands less ! :frown:

I also believe you are a little lax, in pointing out the advantage this gives your buddy JB !.. Not to mention how quick he is to KNOCK or attack his competitor's product ! (ie; Jack Justis, and others) Call me foolish, but I will pay a little more, for the genuine article, if I think it helps maintain OUR standard of living, rather than support a socialist communist anarchy, that has absolutely no qualms, about industrial thievery ! :sorry:

SJD

PS..Have not been keeping up...Is Barton on 'time out' again ?..(anyone) :o

I agree laws are needed to control everyone's intellectual property. But in a population that exceeds one billion people; it will be hard to have enough government to enforce low and keep order, just the essential safety and public service, unfortunately Patents and copy rights enforcement is the last thing on their minds.

Trying to help.

You may be able to pick up some American made clothing at your closest Amish community.

Best I can do on short notice.

In case you haven't noticed, they ARE "aiming system buddie's"!..It is a rare JoeyA post, that does not find a way to elevate JB to 'sainthood' status...Its not a 'tone', its a fact ! ;)

Don't make Joey a bad guy, just makes him overly susceptable, to Barton's ENDLESS arguing and self promotion ! :sorry:
Actually, I would like to hear Joey's response to my post.... Debating the issue with Barton, would be a 200 page
exercise in futility :(

So wait, it's ok for AZB to post this up on their "News" page of Aramith criticizing other ball manufacturers but their take down JB's thread of him criticizing another case maker?

What kind of BS move is that?

Bryan, you do make a GREAT POINT! Lol

Dick,
Go spout your hate somewhere else. Having to bring aiming systems into this thread is pretty sad, imo. Anything to get a rise out of someone.

Don't you see, that everyone is getting tired of these childish ad hominem attacks of yours? Seriously!

Regarding the "comparison" issues, there's a significant difference between comparing production products and custom work, customers make several choices for their own reasons but it's totally different comparing custom work which has distinct features every time and production work which is the same for everyone.

So...

85% phenolic...

What's the other 15%?

Could it be a blend of something, possibly better?

I don't know the science behind it but maybe they're using something that is going to be the new standard..

I am currently testing Chinese balls in a local pool hall. They play pretty much the same as the belgian balls. Downside is, we have nailed in pockets...and where the belgian balls get nicks, the chinese balls get chunks taken out. The belgian balls seem to be a much harder composition, but I know it will be only a matter of time before the chinese catch up.

What surprised me most was that the chinese balls weighed closer to 6 ounces and were pretty consistent among sets. What the owner liked was...he could buy 3-6 sets of chinese balls for what the belgian premier to super pros cost.

Economics will dictate how long aramith can stay in the hunt. They have had price increases almost every year and a room owner with 20 tables and struggling to make the rent will weigh spending 3 grand to replace his super pros against spending 500 bucks for knock offs.

I know all the arguments for using the aramiths are valid, longer life, less table wear, accepted by all the players, but dollars and cents sometimes makes sense.

Joey, if asking a sensible, on topic question, and stating a few facts, constitutes 'spouting hate' or an 'ad hominem attack', then I guess I am just an old meanie ! (also, makes me wonder if you even read my original post #16)

PS.. OK sir, I will not darken your (or leto1776's) 'fragile' door, ever again !.. Sheeeeeeesh, no wonder Barton gets banned weekly...You guys feelings, are a little bit delicate for big boys, aren't they ? ;)

Seems like your trying to stir things up

It wasn't SJD that was trying to stir things up. As far as I can see certain people add nothing to this place, other than product placement or risible shills for their banned buddies. That they chose to do so in all the colours of the rainbow only draws attention to it.

Oh, coincidentally, no CTE user won any of the latest GB9 events, and the winners weren't using OB products, Joey. Still, thank you for your interest in what is one of the best national tours around.

At 3:35, Paul Smith of Diamond talks about phenolic manufacturing process and mentions Aramith. About 30 seconds later he mentions that "typical phenolic balls are around 57-58%". Although he didn't directly imply that Aramith balls are 57-58%, is that what they wanted us to infer? That seems awfully low.
