Poor Shane , he just can't seem to get the monkey off his back
mbmarathon-clifford.jpg

When is he going to win a major tournament outside USA??
He has another chance next week at World 9B :D

I'm pretty sure that is a Gibbon-:)

may or may not be considered a monkey

this post is sure to annoy someone!:)

here's a funny thing: last year's world 9-ball, it was also carlo biado who eliminated shane at top-32. :grin-square:

Maybe Shane should do a Darren Appleton - move to Phiippines and stay for few months playing the locals :D

Chang JL 11-6 over Thorsten
Other Chang also also won 11-8 over Lee Van

So it will be all Asian semifinals
Chang V Chang in one semi
And Biado v Ignacio in other

Confirmed final will be 1 Taiwanese v 1 Filipino
:D

current China Open champion Lee Van Corteza loses to Chang Yu Lung 11-8. :(

Quarter-Finals Final Live Score Update...

It's an all Filipino Taiwanese Semi-Final

from what i hear SVB does well over there vs the 'locals' He's been there a couple times but i doubt more than 2 weeks at a time.

Miss Kim coming back. 7-6 Simeng now. Still it's going to very tough for Miss Kim to get there even from here.

7-7 in GYK match now- She is starting on her confident strut around the table now.

IMHO, GYK plays below this girl Siming's speed. But GYK has the experience and poise while Siming lacks the experience and composure to fade the big matches. By far Siming is the most talented female player around now. It is matter of time before she wins a few World Championships

You are right that looks like a gibbon
This one may be better

Yes some fans will be annoyed-I know this forum has lots of Shane fanboys when I did a search of azbilliards on Google other day

https://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en&tab=ww&gws_rd=ssl#hl=en&q=azbilliards

Shane Van Boening's profile shows up prominently on the site links of azb
:D

No dont get me in trouble on that! I meant I was annoying by nit picking the monkey/gibbon thing!!

alternate break probably lessens SVB chances by 105 or so-more in 10B of course.

Simeng is quite seasoned already imho-she was ranked #1 when she was 17 or so- She even played in Tunica Ms last year.

At least Shane represented USA well as far as mosconi cup team goes. It was him and mika that held out the longest. Even though the format was tough, it looked like alternate breaks, and single elimination in final 32, Shane did well.

GYK is such a force. Love watching her play.

There's absolutely no shame for Shane finishing top 8 in this field. Let's see what he does in Qatar. Mika Shane Thorsten and Lee Van all went out this round. Says a lot about the level of completion and how strong the players over there are.

Miss Kim wins it on a combo that very unlike her, she didn't hit well. They say there are better combo players among the men but i've never really seen good evidence of that.

Yes I know. She was Player of year few years ago. Which is even more surprising that she has not won a World yet
She just lost 7-9 to GYK after GYK made incredible comeback.
They were playing open safeties on the 4 against the rail in the last rack:D

You have to be extremely in stroke with this format. Alternating breaks makes sure monsters like thorsten, Lee van, Shane, etc have their momentum disrupted every other rack. I can see it for ten ball, but nine ball's excitement is in the runouts.

US open is still winner breaks if I'm not mistaken.

carlo is very capable of winning against shane, considering the performance he has shown in this tournament; but im surprised that shane's score was only 4. it's not very "shane-like". i want to find out what happened.
