I want to thank everyone who came out to play. It was a great night for me being able to hang out with all of you. 14 people from all walks of life and all different skill levels. An 18 year old kid getting ready to go off to college, to a senior in his 60s (just guessing Bob) who has only been playing a year or so. Mantis99 who has young kids but still took time to be with us. Longhair who swooped in and took second in the tourney. So many stories to tell but we all have one thing in common, the love of the game. ChicagoRJ and I do our best to keep things lose and fun for everyone. We even had a very special guest in our presents, wrickyb , who as it turns out rubs elbows with the likes of SVB and many more of the games top players. He took a ton of pics, mostly of angle lol, and when he sends them to me Ill post them(he drove 2 hours each way to be with us). Bobyd who was my partner happened to be a regular at Chiris's but my terrible play was to much for him to over come in the scotch doubles. Oh ya , be on the look out for a large man wearing two wrist braces who tells you he cant play cause of various physical problems. He breaks like King Kong lol. But he came through with Sam Adams so it was all good lol thanks again maplecap, your one of the cool kids for sure. Sixpack is another guy with a great story, a busy business man but also made time to hang with us. He was with crawf and won the big money. I missed the match but John (crawf)came up to me and said proudly "show me the money".
I cant stress enough how much I appreciate all who showed up. AZ billiards is a forum for discussion about the game of pool but its so nice to put a face to the name and actually play some pool. It great being around people like MR.Bond who is a hoot in any setting. Angle "chicagoplayer" who has a dream of producing her movie .I wish I could have got more details on it but she was mobbed by all her fans lol. Maybe next time we will get to chat. zphis who is a gentle giant who really played much better than he claimed lol.
Each individual story is what make these get togethers special. As for me, Im not an educated man, just a blue collar worker who's spelling and grammar suck but I to love the game and want to get people to come out from behind the keyboard and get in front of the table and play.
So once again, thanks to all who showed up, I cant thank you enough. On behalf of ChicagoRJ and myself, I hope to see you at the next one.
J-Flo
